Can anyone tell me how early in preg your breasts can start "leaking"( if thats the right word?)? I know they can do before u have your baby, and I know the can once u have had your baby and u hear any baby cry, ...but what I really wanna know is ,..is it likely to happen to me when I go see my friends new baby this week?

I wouldn't think so. The real leaking that is noticeable on the front of shirts etc didn't really hit me until breastfeeding was established after the baby was born. Before then I had small amounts of colustrum for a few weeks at the end of my pregnancy, but nothing hugely noticeable.

My sister started leaking really early on - around 14 weeks I think. She is now 31 weeks and HAS to wear breast pads everyday. I, on the other hand, have had no leakage at all. So yes it can happen early but I can't help in regards to whether it will happen when you hear a baby cry! I would probably say it wouldn't if you haven't had any leakage previously, and I've only heard of that happening postnatal not antenatal

It can start around 20 weeks apparently but for my first pregnancy I didn't get it until well after 30 weeks and then it was only very tiny amounts of leakage, not noticable through clothes or anything.
This time it came on around 25 weeks and is still just very small amounts. I haven't had any "emotional" leaks, like when my daughter or another baby cries but I do sometimes notice an ache in my breasts if she's crying for me. Might just be coincidence though!

nup - nada for me either.
Kellz - If you're worried about it then why don't you stick some tissues in your bra just in case. I know I would be very embarrassed if it happend to me

Mine started when walking around a golf course following my partner and his parents- Talk about bad timing and a bad way to notice it- My partner turned around and started laughing at me and said- Darl one of your boobs is leaking in a circle.. hmmm- Thanks!
That made everyone look and it wasn't easy trying to just walk around with my hand on it haha. but mine started when I was 18 weeks- with a white clear colour but since it has turned to a white yellowish colour. Now I'm wearing support bras and breast pads everyday and night- But they don't seem to stay on their own side at night- I wake up with two on one sometimes. Haha.

I leaked from about 28 weeks with Maya, but not enough to need breast pads. Stopped feeding at 10 mths and when I got preg with the twins 2 1/2 years later it still hadn't dried up completely.

I have been leaking since about 20 weeks. I have to wear breast pads nearly everyday. I am getting a maternity bar to wear at night time so i can wear breast pads then as well because for some reason this is when i seem to leak the most.

I was at my DP's parents when i first started leaking and it was my DP that saw it and commented. Luckily i am comfortable with his family and his sister (who has kids) was able to tell me what it was but i had to stay with a little wet mark by my nipple for the whole day!!

Haha- they just seem to leak at the most convenient times dont they
Mine have been leaking alot more at night to. I think its because when I lay on my side I curl up and have an arm resting on top of one- sorta thing..?
Wait until one of your boobs get stuck to the bed sheet and when you roll over in your sleep and rip your nipple off by accident and wake up with it hurting alot! haha that really sucks...

Emma... my milk hasn't dried up completely yet either. It is normal right?!?

(I stopped feeding in December last year)

I think so. My doc checked my prolactin (super milk-producing hormone) levels when we were TTC and they were fine, so I guess it's just a freak of nature thing lol.

Well, atleast if I have another kidlet any time soon I won't have to wait as long as last time for my damn milk to come in!
