Hi, we've got until March to make the decision, but I'm wondering what to do for a buggy once our baby arrives. Our big girl will be 20 mths.
Our farm buggy is a pedigree sport - I'm going to buy a toddler seat for this from TM. The problem is I don't know what to do about our "good buggy" - a mountain buggy urban. I know there's the buggy boards, but these seem to be for bigger toddlers. Also town is so far away that we tend to go once a month and spend most of the day there - and I'm NOT carrying these 2 around all day!!! I found a toddler seat (hitch-hiker on TM and think it looks like a good idea... but ideally, the baby seat will need to be able to recline to sleep. Not sure if I should look at getting a cheap double on TM? Which doubles fit through doorways/down shop isles? We have a double mb urban designer, it fits perfectly through doors, ive never had any worries. (Oh and I love it)
It takes up a load of bootspace though! Oh we also have a p&t vibe with a doubles kit, and even though it reclines, it doesnt recline enough to sleep (imo) ------------- Mummy to Issy (3) and Elias (18 months) I did it .. 41 kgs gone! | I love our double pram and wouldn't be without it - it is a childcare side by side. Although NOW as Gabrielle likes to walk more and more I think I will also get a couple of cheapie umbrella strollers to keep for outtings to the mall etc where Gabrielle might not want to ride in the pram the whole time. It takes up sooo much boot space but is great for walks. Fits through all doorways too including supermarket checkouts etc. |

We got a cheap 2nd hand Love N Care Europa off TM ($350 for a double - sell new for $720). They're basically the same as a P&T Sport but sell cheaper on TM because its an Aussie brand and not as common here. I think its fab.
We had the same problem - no way could our 19mo stand on a buggy board for ages (actually I'm sure he'd want to fling himself off it at every opportunity), so had to go for a double, and wanted one that could have a stormcover over it (most doubles with the toddler seat on the front cant). |

I like our MB Urban dble buggy. As lilfatty said it does take up alot of car boot space. It does mean that Jack can recline and sleep if he wants to.
I have had some trouble getting it through doorways or aisles but that has only been a couple of times, and in soume shops I used to have trouble getting the sgle MB around  ------------- Lindsey

I ended up selling my double mountain buggy cos I found it such a PITA. Great once out of the boot and when used out in the open but so not practical to take into the doctors or cafes etc, ok in large malls and places like the warehouse but not any little shops like dairies. I ended up buying a marco sky L (www.bubstuff.co.nz, on trademe or babyonthemove sell them), it's great but the toddler seat doesn't recline (only a problem if your toddler still falls asleep on walks) and it only goes up to 15kg so might not be any good if you have big kids. Spencer only just weighs 11kg so not an issue for us.
It folds down so flat it goes in my foot well, it's light and easy to put up/down, the rear fully reclines so Kyle can sleep but when upright he is higher than Spencer so can see out and isn't just looking at the back of a seat. Is cheaper than a MB as well, was $515 -------------

I love my P&T sport, Chloe sits in the toddler seat and Ollie sleeps laid down in the buggy. You need a special "doubles" rain/sun cover for it to fit over it when it has both kids tho.
It was the only double pram that was small enough to actually FIT in our boot, so that was the main deciding factor for us  but I love it. It's easy to get up and down as well.------------- Chloe (4 years) and Oliver (3 years). |

| Have you considered using a sling for the first few months with number two. We did with our girl and she slept when we were walking round town with her in it. It will save you buying another pram i the mean time and give you a chance to see how things go. Just a thought |

Although that only works if your baby is small enough .. Elias was as tall at six weeks as Isabelle was at three months, so he wont fit in a sling unless he is sitting up, but he is still bobble headed lol ------------- Mummy to Issy (3) and Elias (18 months) I did it .. 41 kgs gone! We're just going for the buggyboard option for our main pram, but a different situation as I won't be going for long walks with both of them, just shopping trips etc. Any long outings DH will also be there, and we have two single prams so all good.
If I was in your situation, I'd get a double Mountain Buggy, seeing as you're be out all day with them.  ------------- Two little girls under 2!

P&T all the way I have tried many buggy's and this so the best for our need's had a valco which was ok except not practiacal as the sun shade etc just do not fit over toddle plus my boy still slept in buggy and this does not work for that seat. I really liked my double moutain. but did find in bulky in the shops. Plus in and out the the car loved my pedigree with seat when my boy's were older and bigger worked really well for good walk's no good in and out of the car tho. So then we come to the P&T I was dead againgst them for ages thought baby in bottom would get bored and did not like how low newborn was to the ground I have however been converted it is fantastic for us work's really well even with my big boy and my daughter i can push in one handed great for texting and walking . This is my expirence anyway with buggies. Oh and got my second hand for a great price with all the attachment's. -------------

I'd forgotten to tick the "notify me of replies" box so thought no one had replied - was happy to see so many!!! I'm really keen on the double buggy option (in some form anyway) but not wanting to find a cheapie if possible. Will probably just use the front pack and our buggy for a while anyway, but don't want to lug the new baby around all day! Tessa was 9lb 13 so I'm sure this one won't be a feather-weight! Tamiem - I use a moby wrap and still regularly use it over my buggy and DD is nearly 8kgs.. just another thought with the whole sling/baby wearing option

We bought a lovencare from farmers in their sale last week (i think it is still going). We paid $300 for the double (SUPER SCORE!!!!) instead of $720.
We are going to keep our mb urban elite though as i love it so much, and will sell the lovencare once we dont need a double. So it might be worth checking out farmers?? ------------- http://lilypie.com">
