Has anybody tried these? I did a search to see if anyone else had mentioned them but it didn't come up with anything. I'm thinking of getting a set for baby but I'm not sure about getting pockets  Any feedback appreciated!-------------

I brought a set of the mybaby OSFA and inserts, but haven't got to try them out yet. Was also curious what other people have said about them! They seem good to me, nice and soft and can change into alot of sizes and aswell for a reasonable price! I got 15 plus 30 inserts for about 200 which compared to other ones the same style is really good! Sorry probily didn't help much :) ------------- http://lilypie.com">

That helped  I'm headin down to Tawa in a couple of weeks to get some maternity clothes from Dressmart so maybe I could stop in and have a look at them??
I used all sorts for Jake and wasn't a huge fan of pockets - thats what I'm most worried about. I'll be interested to see how they do when your bub is born!! -------------

Yeah that would be fine. Since this is my first i really have no idea about stuff like that! but soon will learn 
Ive heard alot of bad things about peapods, but the outer material on those seem alot softer than the ones on mybaby naps. Its quite tough and actually feels waterproof! I especially don't want to have to change sheets every hour cause bubs leaked through them!! I've also heard good things about hemp inserts?? i might have to buy some of them, ahh too much to worry about!! hehe ------------- http://lilypie.com">

In my experience when buying nappies new you get what you pay for. I've bought cheaper-brand nappies off TM and they're just that...cheap. The fabrics aren't as nice and the quality over time isn't as good. I think if you are trying to save money you're much better off buying good quality nappies preloved.
Just my opinion though

Completely agree. I have a friend who used a cheaper brand with her baby, that lasted about a month or two when she gave up and went to sposies because of all the problems she had with those cloth nappies. Like anything, you get what you pay for

Funny though, not all "cheap" brands are bad and not all "expensive" brands are the best for your baby. Out of the pocket nappies I have, I like the Baby Harmony and Wigglebums (and Ecobubs wool, but that's not cheap!) the best, Coolababy (a TM nappy) probably the next best, and my Honeychild one of the least! For some reason, the Honeychild doesn't fit Campbell quite as well, and leaves nasty red marks!
Try a Mybaby, then if you like it on your bubs, then that's great for your wallet! Oh yeah, and didn't like Babycheeks either, just wouldn't stop leaking! |

Definetly true Whitewave, different nappies fit babies better than others, but if you want something that is going to last the distance like Vic says then I think its better to spend the extra money to get a better quality product. The problem I've heard of with different cheaper brands have alot to do with the quality ie. fabric, poor workmanship (snaps ripping off, stiching coming apart) etc.

Ive been looking at buying one to try for josh maybe i should just do it and give yas some feedback hehe.
Will start watching for cheap ones again tomorrow. Ive never used cloth so wont have anything to compare with and all kids are different so if it works for me or doesnt it wont mean you will love or hate them.  -------------

I agree with anna_bana, I was talking more about the quality of the product, not the fit/style of a nappy. I've bought cheaper nappies that fit fine, but the inserts weren't as absorbent, the PUL fabric wasn't as soft & wicked when wet and the leg elastic didn't stay strong over time. And of course not ALL cheap products are bad products, I was just wanting to say be wary of cheaper nappies as they're 'usually' cheap for a reason.

I have bought 5 MYBABY nappies and they are good, but not great. The stitching on 3 of them has come undone in places, and they had only been used a few times.
The top front leaks sometimes as well. I am not sorry I bought them though, I got the set for $55, so they were very cheap. -------------

I have 2 of them and i'm glad i only got 2 as i find them not so good on my baby girl, you do get what you pay for so these are good for the price i guess.

Ooh I've just seen this, I have about 20 MYBABY nappies and love them. First I just bought one to try it on Chelsea and it was great so bought the rest. But like everyone else says, it depends on your baby! I would recommend just buying a few to start with, that way if they don't fit your baby too well then you haven't lost out too much (eg we bought the Real Nappies birth to potty pack while I was pregnant. I love snazzipants fitteds with covers and real nappies prefolds for Jake now. I had a random selection back in the beginning that has mostly gone now which included peapods (weren't bad but not faves so rehomed with a friend who adores them and uses them on all her kids) and other pockets. I was totally new to the whole mcn thing so didn't know what I was looking at or for.
This time round I want to get good nappies right from the start and I'm just buying a couple at a time of different brands I like. I'm getting a couple of Ittis, I just brought a couple of popolinis which I have for Jake too and think are brill and I desperately desperately desperately want these - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=238981648 - TM but I don't know if I can swing it. I thought the mybaby naps might round it all off so maybe I'll get one or 2 to try. -------------

I have the MYBABY ones from trade me, we bought them about 6 months before we had our DD, got a great deal. I have, however, borrowed off a friend the size small in fuzzi bunz until DD is big enough so we only need to go to the medium size in MYBABY. I bought another lot of inserts too - hemp ones and so all up she has 3 layers of absorbent stuff in her nappy. Only leaked once, but that was because I thought DH had changed her, and turned out he hadn't. DD is nearly 3months, so I think we will be swapping soon. To be honest, I think the workmanship looks pretty sound on them, there are definitely some pretty dodgy homemade ones Trade Me to watch out for. |

hi, i got MyBaby of TM and they are great!
no leaks and even hold the explosion poos of a 4 months olds... no leaks on the back. Also dry so fast and the inside feels dry even when the insert is sooking. Guess it really dipends on personnal preference and the baby ..how they fit. the onlt yhink that im starting to wonder is that they have velcro clossure, so hope it wont loose its grip with time.... anyone has any experience with that? thanks

I have 1 and use it in rotation with a bunch of others. It works just as well as all my other nappies. As long as your fil your pocket with enough absorbancy for you child it should be fine. I however hate the velcro. I personally dont like mine at all. My boy has skinny legs and they dont fit around them snug enough. The wee also takes a long long time to soak through the microfleece and therefore it just runs out the leg.
Give me my fuzzis or honeychilds anyday. Id rather pay that bit extra for something that doesnt leak. I even prefer my peapods to the mybaby ones. I have brought another type of trademe, similar, same price but so much better. They didn't have a name but I think the user was serabera or something.
