Is it this weekend?
What is everyone doing/getting for the men in their life?
I'm a bit stumped - havent thought further than a magazine subscription or a day on a fishing charter.

Well this side I explained to McKayla what it is all about and now she is planning something all on her own from her and Andrew. So have no idea whatsoever.
Will see a bit later in the week if she wants help with anything.

We don't tend to do big gifts for Fathers Day. S made a card at Playcentre today with a handprint and I will probably buy him a box of scorched almonds
It'll be DH's choice for dinner that night and probably have a special breakfast etc.

Rowan and I visited the new sweet shop in Takapuna. DH is getting macadamia brittle, toblerone and russian fudge for Father's day this year.
We needed something cheap

I send a card, my Dad's birthday is on the 14th so I usually do something bigger for then.
I don't get the big commercialism of Father's and Mother's day, a card and doing something nice for them is all I've ever done.

We were brought up to just make a card, nothing else, my parents did not think retailers should make money off them for those days, lol, & I agree. I would much rather spend the money for birthdays & xmas.
So DH will get his usual sleep in, ha ha, & a nice brunch with the family, & the kids will make cards/drawings.
Oh & I am sure he will buy a game off the PS3 store, ha ha.

I'm getting the kids to "make" a card for DH, and he will get to chill out and do what he wants while I deal with the kids etc. like he can play Wii or whatever. Then we will spend some family time doing something fun

Well I didn't get anything for Mother's day...
However, after he has 'misplaced' (read lost) his keys for the 5th or 6th time this year I think we may get him a key finder.
Oh and perhaps I'll be kind and leave him to spend the whole day together with DD

If he's into cars and stuff you could get a ticket for Speedshow at the asb showgrounds which is the following week. My DH loves cars so will be going anyway but he won't officially be a dad for another few weeks after that.

My Dad and FIL are actually getting bigger pressies than DH, mainly cos DH doesn't need anything and it doesn't really fit the budget.
FIL is getting golf balls - DH doesn't ahve a very good imagination!
My Dad is getting a photo book from Snapfish which has a little story through it and is full of photos of him with the grandkids. I got a really good deal.
DH is getting 2 photo keyrings from Snapfish and we plan to go out for brunch
For Mothers Day I got a cupboard to store my linen as we don't have a linen cupboard!!

dh has given me loads of suggestions...hmm how come the same doesnt work when it is mothers day etc...?
so far undies...and then shopping for fishing stuff tomorrow...and chocolate to share sounds like a good idea...
got a card for $1 from an import store that was cuter than your average hallmark so that helps - cards are sooo expensive now! esp for a 2 yr old to draw on!

I've got Dh a mug from snapfish with a few pics of the boys on. He doesn't have a desk or anything at work but thought he could take a mug in with him. Have had happy fathers day written on the bottom as well. I will also get the boys to make a card, or I might buy one and get them to scribble in it.

We don't do Fathers Day.
Although this weekend we're having a combined family birthday party lunch for the two younger kids who turn 2 on Saturday and 7 on Monday! So that's a little more important to him than Fathers Day I think
