Hi all

I am charlz - aka red dragon mum to Roisin (pronounced Roshen) who just turned 1 in august. DP and I have been putting the wheels in motion for number two.

We have finally got a donor and first try is October YAY!!

I have a question:

Is there a risk of miscarriage if my toddler kicks me in the tummy - when i change her nappy. Could this affect me TTC and or miscarrying?

Also carrying her around i hear someone say that carrying heavy loads all day is a bad?

ANY advice would be great...

Thanks

RD

i used to worry about E kicking me..he did it a few times and then once his head landed quite hard right where bubs would have been..both times bub fine.. they are very well cushioned in there:) he is very good about being gentle with my tummy though now...

I'm not sure about the heavy loads..

yea i wouldnt worry much. i hauled a 2 year old around with my right through my pregnancy and caught the odd kick in the gut every so often. im sure if you can go to the gym right through your pregnancy and stuff like that then carying a baby round wouldnt be a problem. like four_eyes said. its really well cushioned in there. alot of ppl have been in car accidents and all kinds of traumatic experiences and come through fine

In terms of heavy loads my understanding is that as long as you're not lifting things that are heavier than you would normally lift (within reason) you are okay. I still have to carry Ollie all over the place as he isn't walking yet.

I had to lug the gremlins around when I was preg with lil miss (they were 12 mths when I fell preg), like others have said bub is pretty well cushioned in there. I found the hardest part was changing their nappies towards the end when they were bigger and stronger and my bump got in the way. It was never a danger to her, just really uncomfy for me.

I got preggy with Bella when Caden was just 6 months old and he kicked me in the tummy quite a few times and a few of those kicks hurt like hell!, and I had to carry him a lot, even when he could walk(like from the car and stuff like that), and bella is a healthy wee 2 week old
