I thought I would start a thread about the wonderful, silly, infuriating and not too bright things our children do.
There seems to be alot of advice, and issues to be sorted out on these threads... which is fantastic and invaluable but i want to talk about fun stuff... and it would be great to read some other funny stories from everyone else.
This morning for the first time DS (3) called his nana all by himself - we taught him how the phone works a few months ago. I had just rattled off all the chores that need to be done today and our full schedule of grocery shopping, laundry, tidying up and making beds and he just looked at me with an exasperated face.
Anyway, I started going back about my business and heard him talking in the lounge. He was on the phone to nana explaining and coercing my mum to take him to the park. Because his mummy was just too busy with boring things and he needed "fresh airs"
The explanation was long and elaborate and when I finally got the phone from him grandma and I were nearly in tears from laughter. I swear that boy is 3 going on 10 sometimes!

cute!
I'll join in.
I asked taine for the millionth time to get his undies
"where are they?"
"behind you".
he looks blankly
"BEHIND YOU"
he wanders around
"TURN AROUND"
Taine smiles and then turns around and around and around until he gets dizzy and falls over.
"no undies here mum"
Child is now wearing pants....no undies.

@FionaO - Thanks!
@lizzle - Aw that is so cute, what a smartie pants! It's funny how they go through that 'commando' stage, but it can start getting old pretty quickly

I love fun kiddy stories, ummm lets see... when we burp or fart Hayden always says Pardy for us (well for DH anyhow cos ladies dont fart of course ) and the look on his face is just priceless, you can almost see the synapses firing and making the connection - that funny noise = PARDY!.
This morning for the first time he did the sign for Rabbit (Bunnykins breakfast bowl) it was so so soooooooooo cute I didnt mind that he was twirling weetbix and yogurt all through his hair!

Hehe aww I have a couple recent ones from Mr 2
In the womens needs aisle of supermarket 'Mummy need pad? Mummy bleeding *said with such conviction and innocence*'. I look back and laugh now, but at the time wasn't so funny. From now on no more watching Mummy in the toilet when its *that* time of the month. Oh and often I come in the lounge to find pads stuck to my TV screen- he thinks they're stickers
This morning he comes up behind me with his toy tools and starts hammering my butt and trying to use the pliers, when asked what he's doing he replies 'Just ficking (fixing) your bum mummy'
And not funny - but oh so cute! He keeps going around singing 'I dont knowww wooo ooohh oh why lub do thi to me, I don't know do it do it do it do it to me, don't know' (from that air NZ ad).
Never a dull moment in his company.

Twice so far Aoife has managed to get stuck between the fitted sheet and the mattress.
I took them out for lunch 2 weeks ago and Aoife decided to pull down my top and shout 'BRAAAAAAAAA!' repeatedly while we were in the cafe.
The girls have taken to waking up at 5am this week Yesterday morning when I crept up to their door to see if it was one or both awake I could hear one shouting and the other saying 'ssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh'

Lol Tishy, aoife got stuck between the sheet and mattress!? Skills
Yesterday Chloe ran into the nursery after daycare, pushed open the door with a big bang and ran to Ollie's cot shouting "Owwie! Hello Owwie!" and climbed up on the side of his cot to peek at him... when he woke up because of all her noise and started crying, Chloe says in a whisper "uh uh uh, shhhhh shhhh" and looks up at me pointing at Ollie, like he was naughty for not being quiet. LOL
Must be heaps more but I'm brain dead.

Oh, DH and I were looking after the neighbor's boy, Z (who is two and a half) and DH was grumpy about something... anyway we all sat down at the table for dinner and Z sat next to DH, looked up at him with big serious eyes and said very authoritatively "you feeling better now?" and gave him a pat on the shoulder. Cracked me up... and melted DH a little, haha

I will always rememer Caitlyn's muffin story, long time members might remember it .
Shes 2 and a half , maybe 3, we're down at the park and there is a guy there with his dog
conversation went as follows
C - " Hi! "
Man - " hi " (smiles )
C- Whats your name ?
Man - " blah " (not his real name )
C -whats your dogs name
Man - "blah " (not her real name )
C-Is your dog my friend ?
Man-um ,. yep , sure
C- are you my friend ?
Man -er, um , sure
C- are you my mummy's friend ?
Man- er, yeah , I guess so (chuckles )
C - Thats good , you can be my mummy's SPECIAL friend, shes pretty , and she'll make muffins for you
Me- Caitlyn lets go!
shes grown out of that now, and Ty is too little to embarrass me for a while ....

@caitlynsmygirl - hahahaha that is soooo cute, like the muffins would seal the deal! That is definite child logic :) I am cracking up, I love it.
@tishy - Yup! I've had my DS do the same thing, not saying bra, but saying THIRSTY and pulling my top down in public. A wee while ago now though :)

Ugh, lil miss does that too - she tips her head to the side to "assume the position", then starts pawing at my top and saying "booby!" really loudly
PMSL Caitlynsmygirl, that story is still as funny as the first time I heard it Hope she doesn't do that anymore, your DH might not be too impressed...

ah funny stories.
Spencer loves to tell me "no poos" whilst I'm cleaning up his pooey bum.
He also likes to poo check Kyle and will pull his nappy to one side and then inform me either "yuck" or "no poos" unfortunately what he tells you often isn't actually what is going on in Kyle's nappy.
I had just got the pump out ready to express and Spencer climbed up onto the chair and held it to his chest and was asking "where's milk?" I got a picture of that one.

Hehe, so funny. How on earth do you get stuck between fitted sheet and mattress?
Luckily Cody is still to young to get up to things like that this time next year I will have a ton of stories.

Yeah actually I was wondering myself about getting stuck between the fitted sheet and the mattress...
@cuppatea - the poo story sounds like it would be quite useful if he was actually getting the information right! Perhaps with time. Too cute!

Sam has started singing 'Incy Wincy Spider' and for some reason his version has the word 'VAGINA' in it..
It's a spider, climbed up the water spout
down came the rain and washed the spider out
out came vagina
it's a spider, climbed up the water spout

Haha neeandsam- wouldn't want him busting that one out at kindy!!
My DS has always loved to sing nonsense songs, and as his vocabulary gets bigger he has gotten into the habit of just singing a long string of new words he has learnt...
At the moment it's 'peanut butter everything elephant in garage!'
I guess it helps him remember so it's pretty good!

Tehehe - so funny!!
Keira used to sleep under her mattress
Keira comes out with funny things all the time and I can never remember them.
One of her most recent things - I walked into the bedroom one day and asked her what she was doing.
"I'm teaching Maddi to be a Daddy" I then asked what do Daddy's do.
"Put their hands in their pockets and stick out their thumbs" Duh.

I get the giggles everytime he sings it!
I think the 'vagina' might be him trying to get the words 'sunshine and dried up' all in at once.
Oh and the worst one he does is call 'the fat controller' from Thomas and Friends 'F*CKENTROLLER* usually in company! I swear he doesn't know that swear word, it just sounds like he does.

Ah, that's sooooo funny about the Fat Controller!!!
Ella has told people that her Daddy wears 'big girl undies' ('cause all undies are called that apparently). She's also been known to stalk out visitors while they're on the loo, shouting at the door "are you doing poos? Shall I get you a lollipop for doing poos??".

neeandsam: I LOVE the fat controller, that must have shocked you the first time you heard that!
Andie: also very funny with asking if friends are doing 'poo's'
What a great thread to read, nothing to share at my end yet but look forward to the day that I can (well, kind of).
