I have a mild cold, had it for 2 days. This morning I woke with a red rash/spots all over my chest, and tummy. It's only a tiny bit itchy. If it's not some sort of cold symptom then it may be caused by washing my nighttime t-shirt with DH's uniform which was covered in all sorts of fertilizer. But I have washed my clothes with his many times.
DO I need to see a dr? I feel pretty healthy...

ETA I haven't had measles before but I had some sort of immunisation when I was 11 or 12 which included rubella so I think measles was included in that. Measles make you really sick though aye?

It does sound like measles. Do you have photophobia at all? Or a fever?
May possibly pay to get checked out just to be sure. Doesn't matter that you had MMR, It isn't 100% effective and does tend to wear off after a bit of time.

Is photophobia when you can't stand bright lights? Nope, just mild cold. I feel a little warm but it is a warm day. I will go and find Jody's forehead thermometer right now though. It's bad bad bad if Jody gets measles isn't it??????

Yeah immunisations can wear off more quickly than they're supposed to. Also the 11/12 yo Rubella vaccine was a solo one if it's the same one I got. So not an MMR one.

Loads of different viruses can give you a viral rash. Measles being one of them and rubella as well as loads of other ones that aren't immunised for. Probably wouldn't hurt to get along to the docs and have it checked out, although a lot of the time they can't tell without doing two lots of bloods two weeks apart anyway so they tend to just guess.

Measles doesn't always make you that sick, same with rubella, although adults do normally suffer worse than children who get it.

Often also with these things you have a fever and then the rash turns up a few days later. I had hand foot and mouth last year and I had a random fever on the Monday (or might have been Tuesday) and then got the rash on the Friday, in between I only had mild cold symptoms. Bit headachy and a bit of a sore throat and that was it, didn't get any worse than that either, even though apparently it is normally quite nasty to get as an adult.

I wouldn't get over panicked about Jody possibly getting it. Even if she does it is very rare for them to get seriously ill or have complications.

Went to the Dr... he is asian and I couldn't understand most of what he said lol. Mild viral infection that usually only kids get and I am lucky it is so mild. Jody will be fine if she gets it. Stay at home until rash clears. I asked if it was measles but didn't understand what he said so I asked him to repeat himself and I still didn't understand so I nodded and smiled, as you do.

Glad it is nothing to worry about.
