A friend of mine has just been admitted to hospital for bedrest, as she is 31 weeks pg with triplets.  If all goes well they will c-section the babies at 34 weeks, but if things deterioate (sp) they'll come sooner.  But for the meantime she's stuck in hospital, and has to lie down as much as possible to let the blood flow to the placentas as much as it can.

I want to send her some things to try and keep her entertained while she's in there.  I'm not one of her close friends and know her close friends will probably do things and get things for her anyway, but still wanted to do something nice as well.

So the ones who've had twins or more, and were admitted to hospital for bedrest, anything that you had or wanted that kept you sane?

I was thinking of getting mags - OHBaby! of course, maybe an OK! and then my mind goes blank.  Also some treats.

DH bought me a nintendo DS when I was on bedrest with Spencer, probably a bit pricey for a not that close friend though.

Magazines, suduko books, crosswords etc can be good as well cos sometimes you feel like you need to work your brain.

I liked getting snack foods, especially ones i could keep next to the bed and eat whenever (including 3am..lol). Fruit as well, as they only ever gave one piece out a day with the hospital meals and it was normally some scabby looking apple that i didn't want to eat anyway.

She might also appreciate ear plugs, or to borrow and ipod or something.

Mum gave me a gift pack - it was called "Honeybee for Mum to Be" - it had honey infused moisturiser, chapstick, peppermint foot rub and a few other things - esp for the Mum to Be.  Smells heavenly.  It comes in a yellow pack from the chemist - think it was Unichem or Amcal.
