Just wanted to say it is threads like that with lots of differing opinions and viewpoints that really make you think about what you believe about some things. I for one have been thinking about it and some of my parenting choices and wondering about how i could do sme things differently. Most interesting i think though is that even tho there is an agree and disagree side there is still lots of differences in both camps. And wow the big difference in opinion from a word! and how we perceive what it means. Love how you really get to see the different perceptions and what that means to others...
it makes for interesting reading if you havent read it, but it may take a while as it is getting to be a looong thread! But the good news is Kelly hasnt sung on it!

Yeah it has gone a bit off-track, but it is an interesting debate

A bit off track? It started with SB resigning and moved through smacking, children in jail, weddings and timeouts and god-knows what and SB's hair. Cracks me up
I found it great though - good reading and nice to see a good civil thread where people on both sides had constructive stuff to say.

Yeah think there may have been a reason. File it with religion, circumcision, Immunisation and daycare.

oh maybe we should start a gay/lesbian adoption one, that would probably get some lively debate
I found it really interesting too, I always love finding out other people's views and opinions and like you Bizzy I find it makes me think about my own views.

That's what I love about OB mummies - we all come from different backgrounds and have different ways of raising our kids but for the most part we're educated enough to state our opinions and take others' opinions on board without it getting personal.
I have a lot of respect for most of the women on here even though my views don't necessarily correspond with theirs and I do like to hear what others have to say.
That being said I doubt the SB thread is going to be a hotlink topic from the next OB Newsletter

Your last post in that thread just made me think of shoes which then made me remember I was supposed to ask you where you got the ones you had on at Te Papa, they were awesome!
