ABout a week ago you couldnt stop my little bubs from kicking all the time, and the kicks were hard kicks, real definate punches. Since Sunday Morning I noticed that there is very little in the way of movment, I mean I think I can still feel a few small occasional twinges, but definately not on teh same scale as it was before...I havent worried about it so far, just thought that baby was a bit quieter...but it is almost 3 days now...should I be worried or is this normal?

It might be that she's moved around into a position that you can't feel the movements in quite as well? I know my bub has his quiet days and then busy ones. Have you tried all the usual tricks to get her moving? cold drinks, sugar, running around and then lying still, loud music?

Apparently when your baby reaches such a stage- he or she hasnt got much more room left to get the momentom- however you spell it- to swing around alot so thats why you dont feel it as strongly or as often. it completely normal. thank god. i thought my bubba was well.. maybe died... scary to say- but the MW told me otherwise

Yeah my bubs has quiet days and active days, if you are concerned have a chat to your midwife...she might get you to keep a kick chart.

I was exactly the same. Especially around your dates. I got lots of movement then nothing really for 3 days. Then out of the blue hed start up again. So yeah not too much to worry about.

Like Mel said, a glass of ice cold water usually gets them jumping.
Otherwise start charting the movements and as long as there are 10 in (gee, I don't actually know how long it is) then you are fine!

i had the same when i was about your stage with jack. i asked my midwife about it and she said as long as i feel 10 movements in a day, then that's fine. maybe you should make a note of each movement you feel, whether it be a kick or a slight flutter and you'll be surprised at how quickly you actually get to 10

Yeah 10 movements within a 12 hour period (doesn't matter which hours of the day you choose to measure that 12 hours from either).

I started to worry when I was at various stages as well because my lil munchkin was non-stop so it makes it easier to notice changes when they slow down.

These days, hubby just has to put his head to my belly! He says even over the gurgling of my stomach and my own heartbeat, he can hear her heartbeat loud and clear!!

I lay awake all night last night willing mine to start moving - I'm sure they were but I just couldn't feel it and I was stressed. I knew they were OK coz I listened to them with the doppler but I just wanted them to move! Finally fell asleep at God knows what time, and what do you know - I woke up this morning to a pair of very jumpy bubbas!

I've wondered when you count the movements what do you count? Literally each time you feel them move? Because I can easy reach 10 sometimes during a really active session! Especially when feet and hands are going!

I have read that quiet times are growth spurts. At the moment my baby tends to be having quiet days followed by active days and I do get a bit nervous on the quiet days - and stress till I've counted 10 kicks. Im actually starting to get a little bit nervous, (for no good reson) and just can't wait till my baby is out and I can see he is whole and healthy.
