Please folks, at the very least check your properties for any sign. DO NOT just assume that she won't be out there.

I can't even begin to imagine how scary it must be for the parents and the little girl. And to be honest I don't really know if I can think of a "good" senario? If a kind passer-by picked her up, then surely she would be back with her parents by now..

I just keep hoping that the Asian girl she was seen with doesn't keep tabs on the english news and has looked after her.

But I keep thinking about that swollen river out the back...

Oh I hope she's ok - I want to help look

Its horrible! I know a little girl who went missing overnight when she was 3. She slept in some bushes cos she was tired and then crept home dodging all the "strangers" that were calling out to her. She was ok, thankfully, but it certainly makes me feel for these people. But I'm still hopefull this little girl will be ok too.

According to someone on the trademe message boards a petrol station has gone through cctv footage and a girl matching her description was seen at 10pm. With a man, crying.

This is unconfirmed as yet though, and the Police are investigating. This was heard through a police scanner

DH always worries about his boys, everyone says he overly worries. Now not so sure, won't go on at him in future for it now.

I think someone has her, how can a little tot like that walk around and not be seen, you would like someone would of stopped & called the police while waiting with her, well that is what I would of done, I would not of put her in my car & driven off...so if someone has done that then they have no intention of giving her back.

I hope she is returned unharmed & soon to her family, I can only imagine what they must be going through & I never want to be where they are....

I doubt someone has taken her, I think unfortunately it's more likely that she slipped and fell into the stream or estuary nearby (I think they flow out to the harbour?), especially with all of the rain lately. Poor, poor little girl and her family, I get all teary thinking about what they must be going through

Sounds like abduction is getting more likely - .

just been out shopping with my 2 littlies who hate to hold hands, was paying for something & they took off out the shop to hop on a stupid ride on car & I raced after them yelling at them, not worrying about paying for item or the cue behind me

After the fist night I thought someone had her, & I like Flake think she has a better chance of being alive if this is the case. But it makes me sick that someone thinks they can just take a child. I wish I could do something. I hate to think what they are going through.

I went to Lincoln Road Pak n Save this afternoon, which is very close to where she went missing and they had a police truck there with flyers all over it of her. They have set themselves up so people can stop by and give any information..

Although I live nearby - just being that close to the actual area made me feel so emotional just thinking about her. I couldn't help but look around at all the surrounding waterways on the way back and wondering if she got that far.. I had images of her in my mind walking around crying because she is alone and I wonder if that's how it was before someone may have picked her up? I only hope the parents can get some answers one way or another..

One thing I never knew before was that she was apparently playing with her 6 year old sister outside (so wasn't alone initially)..

I did a drive along the road she went missing and the areas around today as I was in Auckland for the weekend. A tiny bit surprised to see no one out looking for her, I guess it has been established that she isn't there though but still.

Good to see almost every shop in West Auckland has a missing sign. For those of you not in the area who want to help, here is the link to print off the "find Aisling" posters. I am going to put some up around my town as now she could be anywhere.

I think they know who he is but they won't say if they have spoken to him or not - have cut the below from the herald:

Meanwhile, a mystery man holding a broken umbrella is on a growing list of "people of interest" to police hunting the missing toddler.

Cherie Tahi, who lives next door to the house Aisling was visiting, told police she saw a man behaving strangely on the street before and after the toddler vanished.

"He was standing across the road holding a broken umbrella. He was wearing brown pants and he was tall," she said.

"My husband noticed him too. I saw him earlier in the afternoon, he walked up the street towards Pomaria Rd.

"He just stood there watching while everyone was rushing around looking for this little girl. I went up to him and asked if he'd seen her and he just said 'no'.

Aisling Symes was with her parents and sister when she disappeared. Photo / Supplied

"It was queer that he just stood there while we were frantically searching."

Tahi said the man, who could have been Asian or Polynesian, refused to tell her his name but told her where he lived.

"That's not all he said to me ... but I have given that information to police and they can investigate it."

Inspector Davey, said last night that the list of "persons of interest" was "ever-growing" but would not say if police had spoken to the man.

I saw the thing on Breakfast with Deb Webber. She said she wanted to help and that she saw the girl 'looking up' like she had fallen into something.

Paul Henry stopped her about there probably incase it affected the investigation but I understand TVNZ put her in touch with the Aunty.

I agree...and yes the family is a strong part of the church community so I would be highly surprised if they would use a psychic.

I just wish she would be found soon, my heart is breaking for this family.

The way I see it is if she's still alive (which I think she is) she must be found soon. NZ isn't that big a place and it would be hard to get her out of Auckland let alone NZ.

Maybe I'm a little naieve though.

How can people say that, what a stupid woman to make that public wonder if she even knows the lotto numbers or the day of the week.

I don't think the family needs to hear that. There is still hope.

weird - or coincidental? Money motivates even the coldest heart.

This just sucks. I'm so upset for the family. I doubt the police would go to that much effort if she wasn't almost definitely there.

Also if you click the 'sat' tab on the map on the stuff page it shows you the properties with the labels in I think.

It sure sounds like they really got a tip off or something, otherwise I cannot see why they wouldn't have searched if it was close to the property.

Well the police were pretty satisfied that the sighting of her at the front on the street was genuine. Seems odd that she would have then toddled back past the house and into the back of the next door propertly and still not have been missed.

I say foul play.

I am seeing updates on FB that say RIP Aisling, unsure of where they are getting this information but feel incredibly sad.

you know, i think the worse part of all this, is that looking at a little girl who disappears, everyone of us thinks back to that time uor toddler went missing - just for a few seconds. and then reappears and your breathing returns to normal.

everyone of us knows that sudden feeling of panic and the i mense relief when it turns out they've fallen asleep in the shed, or locked themselves in the wardrobe - or in my son's case - returned by the police after escaping a LOCKED gate. I just remember the feeling of panic when jake went missing, that feeling of dread seeing Taine standing on the road, that panic the very first time they slept through the night.

There but for the grace of God go I, i guess.

weird - or coincidental? Money motivates even the coldest heart.

The reward is for the "safe return" of Aisling.
So who knows.

On the official FB group page they are saying they're checking the septic tank as there has been a sewage blockage and they're just checking it to make sure.

However the tents etc erected would suggest otherwise - I hope it is just a random blockage and not her.

My heart is sinking, how awful for the family. I hope they find her tonight.

Dh and I were talking about it we watched her on close up and she was looking to the right and face completely hidden from the cameras but if were telling the truth you look to the left and hope she hasn't played NZ for a fool.

I do hope they find her
