Well I've been contemplating over the last couple of days whether to start a December thread, and since I see the Feb babies have already made their mark, I thought its time for all the xmas month babies to make a stand . hehe.

So I'm due 17th December, by my scan, and the 12th by my dates, so ima pick the 14th as my due date

This is my first bubz, and am enjoying watching my tums get rounda, and having an excuse to eat so much!! Can't believe I've hit 15 weeks, though it does kinda seem like ages ago when I first found out I was expecting.

Hope all the xmas mums are doing fine, ms should be easing up for most of us......cept I get hit with it every few days or so (like today ) unless it was something baby didn't agree with lolz.

Oh also forgot I live in Auckland, born and raised in the sunny Bay of Plenty....Whakatane to be precise hehehe. And am thinking of having baby there, well baby will be spending his/her first weeks there, soaking up some sun lol.

Ok well hopefully I'm not the only one out there who's due in December..... And I know I'm NOT because I've seen on the due date list .

Looking forward to hearing from all the other xmas mumsiez

this is my second, and i am huge already. Starting to feel better so am hoping the ms is easing off, but i woke up this morning with a bloked nose and sore throat...... yay. off to the health store soon for something suitable.
My next mw appt is on the 26th, am looking forward to it so i can hear baby's heartbeat.

Any others around?

I don't come in here often but am due 4th December with first bub

Just over 16 weeks and belly seems to be swelling nicely and I 'think' I am starting to feel the beginnings of junior moving about. I get this odd tickly/itchy feeling to the left below my belly button. I don't really know what to feel for though so not sure! Feels weird whatever it is.

Hi ya,
I am due 01 December with #2. Funny how your body seems to remember being pregnant and your belly pratically falls out. I had to tell people I was pregnant when I was only 8 weeks because it was so obvious! ha ha

Awwwww awesome, welcome welcome ladies........hehehe, look at me, thinking I run the place  lmfao.

I go for my MW appointment next Wednesday so will also get to hear baby's heart beat. Can't wait!! since when we had our 12wk scan we never got to hear it...I barely got to see baby actually d@mn  radiographers arm was in the way . Though DP got to see baby, and I caught glimpses of bubz with his/her legs crossed lmfao. Hopefully I can have a scan at 19 weeks, I jus can't wait to see bubz again. Also can't wait for the flutters to start. My tummy is huge, a work mate of mine is 23 weeks and our tumys are almost the same....either that or my tops are smaller and clings to my tummz more.

Thanks for the invite into the November thread, I read in there quite abit, and who knows maybe baby will end up being a Nov baby. I hope so since I was born in November

I am due at the end of Nov (28) Was over by 5 days with my 2nd (first was basically on time as I was in labour on due date just didn't have him till 2 days later!!!) so I may well be a dec mother - my nana (who I was very close to and has passed away) was born on 3rd dec so it would be nice to have the baby on her birthday but I'd really would hate to go over again - poor Brooke looked a bit cooked when she came out

Hey there, well add me to this list.  I'm due the 28th of Dec by my dates but will have bub around the 21st as I have to have c/s #3.  My m/s is still going so I'm hoping it will stop very soon.

No idea at this stage what we are having, might not find out at 20 weeks scan, but don't quote me on that!!!

Take care, Gaye

Awesome to see our group growing!!!. is anyone else going to find out what they're having??? I want to, since I have a feeling baby's a girl...or maybe I just want to little girl

Hehehe watching Home and Away and Tasha is having her first scan awwwwww lolz.

I'm still suffering MS aswell, though it could be the baby doesn't like Chinese food since I seem to be sick the next day after I've eaten it.

I personally don't want to find out what we're having, but DH does. We'll have to discuss what we'll do and come to some agreement.

Didn't end up seeing the midwife as we had a different time down for me and then had to rush off to a birth. I'm re-scheduled for next thurs.

Hehe following each other around all the forums huh Xanthesmum
I just loved hearing the heartbeat that first time Eva, I got more excited than I did at the scan I think hehe.

We're not sure if we are finding out the sex yet, I think it will come down to deciding on the day when the scan is in progress. If we do find out we will keep it under our hats.

Cute pic nijo, is that Ruby when she was a baby?

mw appt on monday, i am so excited. this is even better than the scan, as we wernt sure if we would see a baby or a sac, but this time i know we will hear the heartbeat, yay.
have a good friday night everyone, new show on telly, the fashion one, will have to settle in early to watch it. ( oh how small my world is getting!)

I also need to get my naps in during the day, if I dont then I have to go to bed after shorty st lolz, otherwise its just too hard to keep my eyes open.. Well I've got to get up early, got work @ 6am!!!. Then I have to spend my weekend packing and cleaning. moving out, which is good cos I wanted to before baby came, but sadly we haven't founda place yet. Not too stressed though cos I don't want to rush into a place that I dont like, so my cousin's letting us stay with her til we find one

Awesome Eva! Where abouts in NZ are you? Are you looking for a rental or to buy?

I've shifted house everytime I've been pregnant, so hopfully this time we'll stay put ...... although we're renting and the house is for sale at the mo.

Sure is cold! These babies inside us are menat to be keeping us warm lol. It just ain't a happening thing though!

I got a pair of maternity pants of TradeMe today. They actually fit! Although they are a size small, and they may not fit the whole pregnancy, they are fine for now!

omg, i just learnt that my date twin from work ( she is due one day after me) is having an emergency scan today to see if there is two babies in there! i dont know whether to laugh (yay not me) or cry ( poor girl) this isnt a planned pregnancy either. ah well, they say these things come in threes, and all the other girls at work have been freaking out about being the third.. this way there doesnt need to be aye!
(although, am i allowed to be disgruntled that i am way bigger in the tummy than her, and she may have two in there?)

oh ooh 10 sleeps? how can you contain yourself?
well she wasnt working last night, so we got the boss to ring her - and of course none of her numbers are updated, so took some ringing around, but finally we got her! Only one baby, but she is further along than they thought ( privately, i think her midwife should have sent her to a 12 week scan, and it would have been picked up then. but the midwife doesnt believe in too many scans, so didnt ) she is now due 16 dec. And they are 95% sure it is a wee girl! i am so jealous, she got the see the flavour, and she gets to go back in 3 weeks and see it again! no fair.
how is everyone today?
so she is quite relieved

I can't believe it, after 6-8 weeks of feeling pretty miserable with nausea, exhaustion, constipation and vomitting, I feel human for 2 days and then get hit with a heavy cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!! someone up there is having a good laugh at me.
Still keep telling myself it will be worth it in the end
I am enjoying my extra 300 calories I have been advised to consume, caramel slice today!
I had a quick peak at Bingo last week at the nuchal scan and I am already impatient for week 18 to see him again
thank you for the welcomes everyone, hope we are all feeling well

Redbedrock, I was so happy to see a January 7th on here! I am due with my third child on 3 January so I thought I'd join the December mums too I got to hear the heartbeat last week YAY! but don't get a scan for another 3 weeks. I think we will find out what we're having (we didn't for our two girls).

So I'm 14 weeks now and surprised because the last two days I've had the worst MS ever! And never had any with the previous two. Hope it goes soon.

redbedrock, i can so sympathise with you about the ms and colds. i have been sick non stop with various colds since i signed up for permanent hours at work (start of april) didnt realise at the time i was already pregnant! the only time i havent had a cold i have had morning sickness. so i am well over this whole "low immunity" stuff, and am ready for some of the promised energy to arrive. (infact, think i am starting a new cold today, cant stop sneezing, argh)

Its not fair is it, there should be some law that you can't catch a new cold until you have had 6 weeks free of morning sickness. I can't even take coldrex!!!!!! I stink of Vicks
I am seeing my midwife for the first time next week so I hope to hear the heartbeat then, I have only seen this grey ripply thing that the sonographer said was the heart beat and I had to take her word for it. I think it will be very real if I can do that next week
Does any one else find they spend a lot of time moaning at the moment, I am obsessed with how bad I feel/look or how tired I am, no one told me about that

Woah like at our group now Welcome to the Jan mumz aswell

Well seems like ages since I've been on. Missed my midwife app cos partner and I were moving so now having it on the

19th or something like that. Well now we're staying with my partner's parents in Hamilton!! and have to commute to work in Auckland Been looking into transferring to Hams and it looks promising so yea its a permanent move here now, from the looks of things. I don't mind though haven't got much family up in Auckland cept some older cousins, at least in Hams I've got some old skool mates and my older sister doesn't live too far away in Te Kuiti, I'll be visiting her every weekend I bet!. It's good to get away from the hustle and bustle of Auckland, I just wish both my partner and I could hurry and transfer, and find our own place to rent. I need my own space, but we're also trying to sort things out now so it'll be easier bill wise when baby comes and I'm off work...Gosh I'm even thinking on starting a Nursing degree next year so I'm going to be one busy bee. Luckily MIL offered to baby sit when she can. Might wait til the middle of the year though

Welcome to the new recruits, our little group is expanding! What a neat idea taking your two elder kiddies to the scan Kels.
Hope the move went ok Eva, don't envy your commute now though! We have 45mins each way from Cambridge to Tokoroa for work each day and that gets tiresome very quickly. Good to be closer to friends though.

19 weeks today, wow nearly halfway! We have our anatomy scan on Friday, only 4 sleeps to go wahooooo Mum is going to come along and check out her first grandchild on the screen.

Had my scan this morning What a fab experience! Was such relief to see all the bits in the right places. Our scan lady was so lovely and went out of her way to get clear shots of feet, hands, face, profile etc so I am looking forward to watching the video (touchwood it worked this time!) soon. She confirmed that my placenta is def posterior (at the back) so said it was not a wonder I have been feeling good boots for a few weeks already. I think I can relax now and concentrate on growing a big strong bubba.

All the best to those with scans coming up, it is truly an amazing time.

My 10yr old (girl) was only interested for the 1st 5mins then wanting to get to school (to catch up with mates)

My 5yr old (girl) on the other hand was up on the bed with me, face in the thick of it all lol. She asked the sonographer if the baby was gonna fall out if she pressed to hard.

After my 5mth wait to find out it's a boy She showed me all the bits n pieces hehehe definitely proud he was!!!

Just thought I would add this as I am so excited, after several weeks of flutters and not sure if it is wind I had a good kick to the bladder yesterday and now I am definite it is baby and not just trapped wind.
And people are asking me if I am pregnant and not afraid to do so incase I am just fat, really settling in to this expectant role now.
Lovely to hear about other peoples scans and such

Hi everyone, this is weird, I've never been in a forum before! It's really nice to know others are in the same boat. I'm due Christmas Eve and am looking forward to a wee boy (had scan yesterday... they look quite alien don't they?).
I read that Eva is looking at moving to Hamilton, I'm moving to Cambridge a month before the due date, so I know what you're feeling! We're still in Auckland at the moment, but my hubby already has a job jacked up, so at least that's sorted. I'm doing antenatal classes up here, so I won't know many people when I move down... keep us posted if the move goes ahead and we can stay in touch!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, it's great to know there will be people in my neighbourhood! I grew up in Cambridge (in Rotoorangi) to be exact, so I know Whitehall too. No ideas on baby names yet, I had a lovely long list of girl names, but only 2 boy ones, which my hubby and I have different ideas about, so still thinking! Is Herewego a first timer too? I hope your pregnancies are going swimmingly and you're getting rounder everyday!

Hi Mariel! Glad you came and joined us

I haven't used fuzzi's or any nappies yet for that matter but am leaning very strongly towards fitted cloth nappies and am looking at snazzipants at the mo. Had a demo of heaps of different sorts a couple of weekends ago, by a friend, and just need to get my head around which ones I think will suit! The fuzzibunz and snazzipants websites are great.

hiya flossie! (oops, marielb ) glad you can join us too :)

i intend to get a set of snazzis for this baby, i used cloth flats for xanthe, and had a couple of snazzis that i really liked. i havent tried fuzzis so cant comment on them, but i really loved the snazzipants and the covers are brilliant! the bummis wraps cover everything.
hi otter, hope everything is going well for you, i know what you mean about enjoying the belly now, mine is nice and little and i can still fit my pants ( that means so much to me you know) yet the bump is quite big. think i must be carrying up high perhaps?

Hi December mums hope you are all keeping well and growing nice big tums! Have been uploading my latest belly pics for my brother and sis-in-law overseas so thought I would post one here too
Taken at 24 weeks, please excuse the daggy trackpants, DH's oldest trackies are sometimes the most comfy these days as I am sure you can all relate ha.

cool belly pic poppit. Im looking pretty much the same lol. I have noticed that my baby has settled down this last week. Instead of feeling like he is on a treadmill 24/7 (like he was) he is now only moving at certain times. Maybe he is getting himself into a routine of awake/asleep. Maybe I should start taking notes

Great pic of the tummy! I wonder if there's a way of setting baby's body-clock before birth, so that he isn't awake at night and asleep all day? Dream on eh?! I got a PM from Aimee, I think I'll give my local stockist of Fuzzibunz a call just after bub is born so I get the right size etc. I reckon I'm just keen to get everything sorted early!

Well I aint been on this thing for ageeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees.

Well 15 weeks left to go. Can't believe the year has gone by so fast. My partner and I have moved over to Brisbane just a couple days ago. Doesnt really feel like Im away from home which is good becos I was so depressed and sad for many weeks before we left and when I said my goodbyes to everyone I was breaking down in tears. I've got all my family coming over at the end of the year. My mum wants it so one person goes over each week lmfao...and Ive got a huge family lolz. But yea probably be mum, dad, my lil brother, lil sistah and 2 of my olda sistahs, and once the tribe have been and gone we'll be heading back over to see my partner's side of the family and others. Luckily my partner promised I could visit NZ at least 3 times a year....that's what my conditions were for moving here, because my family are my life and I don't want my baby growing up not knowing them. We are a very close family and my sistahs were a bit upset about me going because they fear their Neice won't know them.

So yea thats my speel. I'm still in NZ by spirit and will be on hea regularly now cos Im just bumming around til baby is born lolz.

Oh yea Im having a girl

Hi All , I haven't been on in ages! Lot's of luck Eva with Christmas in a new country, I'm sure and your wee girl will love it! I had a bit of a scare this week with some unexpected bleeding that had me up at the hospital getting a rhesus jab... what fun! Still baby is doing famously and is now in motion nearly 24-7! I can't wait to meet the little guy, not long to go now. I hope everyone is well and enjoying their nesting phase as much as me (Trademe has had a thrashing at our place!) My Mum is knitting booties up a storm too Kels, he'll have a pair for every day of his first month!

We have all been a bit quiet haven't we. All going well here, 30 weeks today and definitely expanding weekly now! Finding some of the kicks/punches a bit painful now. It's still a nice feeling though knowing the little one is ok in there.
Have finally started our purchases and are now the proud owners of a bassinet, change table and capsule so feel a little organised now. At least we have a means for getting baby home from the birth centre and somewhere for him/her to sleep! P&T buggy and set of drawers due this week too

Whoa that sounds a bit scary about your bleed Otter but glad everything is under control and baby is happy in there.
I bet it is getting pretty warm in Brisbane now Eva!

Isn't this summery weather fab

Starting to get all those lovely 3rd trimester hang ups....fat cankles, sore back, and even pains else where . Oh well its all worth it isn't it . Good to hear you've got some big things ready for bubs poppit......I can't wait til I can do that.....can't wait til we have our own place

Wow swimming Eva! Lucky you! It's been much warmer here but definitely not swimming weather just yet, even with a heater on board

Bubs movements have been far less painful since Monday as the clever little thing has turned from breech to head down! I am so relieved that s/he is in the right position now and the movements since have been much calmer and less painful. Bubs must have been very uncomfortable breech I think because it felt like it was thrashing/thumping about in there all the time, now it just feels all floaty with the odd big thump.

My countdown to maternity leave is 4 weeks and 2 days but I actually only have to work 17 of those days because I have 4 days leave to use up before my finish date of the 3rd November. YAY :)

Have any other first-timers started antenatal classes? What do you think? Our group seems awesome and so far the classes have been much better than I expected, really interactive and even DH has enjoyed them despite not really wanting to go to begin with.

Hi all! I guess I'm further behind than you folk, bubba isn't really kicking me all that much, in fact hubby is still having difficulty feeling the movements (I tell him that he has a calming effect on him!). Antenatal classes have made things a lot more real for us ! On Monday she went right through the whole labour beginning to end, everyone was much surprised when the baby's head actually fit through the pelvis model! I start 4 day weeks in a couple of weeks, I can't wait

Hi Kels, You poor thing, can't they give you lighter duties, or something less taxing on you? Are you leaving only 2 weeks before you give birth? I can only recommend putting your feet up in your lunch break as much as possible, and maybe take a cat nap. Maybe some of the Mum's who have already been around the block can suggest something... I know we'll all get to that stage soon enough Good luck, and go easy on yourself!

Hmmm Kels besides finishing work earlier all I can say is sit down as much as you can at work and have really early nights (not sure how easy that is with other kiddies though)! Are you able to cut down your hours a little so that you can leave around 3 when you start to feel really tired?

I'm not suffering too much tiredness yet, more like insomnia ha, but am not enjoying sitting on my butt all day at work and travelling 45 mins each way in an uncomfortable ute. Ah well only 6 more days of work after today....

Lucky you poppit for finishing work soon. I cant complain as it only takes me 10mins to work, not your 45mins (poor gal). I hav decided to sleep during my Lunch breaks thanks to Otters sugestion  LOL. I (like poppit) have sleeping issues. i  do not sleep between 2-4.30am and I think this was contributing to my overwhelming tiredness at work. My other children are 10yrs and 5yrs and they have really been helping me at home. However then I have marching and swimming and other extra activities the children do LOL tonight swimming 5.30-6pm then marching 6-8pm.. At least I may make it home by 8.30pm lol.......

Girls it's only 2 days until November then we can say our babies are due 'next month'! WOWOWOW and YAYAYAY!

Only 2 days until I finish work too. Had a wee holey crap moment about that when I woke at 5am this morning!

Hehe Kels looks like it is just you and me I'm glad to hear you are getting some rest at lunchtimes and that it seems to help you get through the day.

It's November today so it's not long for us now ladies Today is my last day of work....very surreal and weird feeling! I have such mixed emotions as I am being made redundant and will never be back here. Have lots planned for tomorrow and Friday at so that I don't have a chance to miss work.

Hope all the other December mums and bubs are doing well!

I'm here too! I think my work will be happy I'm off when the time comes. I'm so slow and forgetful now, I'm running at half (maybe less!) Oh well! My midwife gave me a great knee-chair thing to sit on at work too. It's supposed to get bubs in the right position - everyone has had a go on it! Good to hear everyone is winding down... don't overdo it when you finish work, remember REST!!!!

Awwww ladies, well I've been off work for ages, can't believe that our bubsies are due next month . My lil girl is still skwirming as much as she can with the limited room she has lolz. I'm pretty sure she's head down aswell since I've been having quite sore pubis pains lately, especially walking around and moving around in bed. Am also suffering from tiredness during the day, usually try and go for a nap around 3.....which I am overdue for now since I'm just about falling asleep at the keyboard and its 4:10pm lolz. Also finding it difficult to sleep sometimes....still managing to somehow sleep kinda on my stomach (which is huge)..do not ask me how that works .
Well hope all the mums are doing good

It seems like just yesterday I finished work but it was 2.5 weeks ago already!! We have all our baby essentials sorted, bassinet made up, babies and my stuff packed for birth centre, so just waiting now for the day this baby decides it wants to be born

I think we must be the quietest 'month' board. Hope all your other mums-to-be are doing well...it's just a waiting game now huh?

Hi Everyone Me too! I finish this Friday ! Then we move house on the weekend to Cambridge, set up house and start the organising for baby. I don't think a month is enough time to swat up what to do when junior arrives though! It's come around so quickly, it'll be nice to feather the nest and take it easy. I hope everyone has a really easy birth, and perfect wee bubs. Stay in touch

CONGRATULATIONS KELS BELLS

Well I'm looking at being induced in the next 2 weeks. Was only recently diagnosed with g.diabetes, just borderline though, and only having to manage with my diet. We had a scan on Monday and baby is measuring around 8 pounds, but thankfully its due to genetics (big head .....and long legs) and not to do with the diabetes. Well least I've been guaranteed not to go past my due date!!. But will have to stay in hospital for a few days while they monitor baby's blood sugar levels.
As for the sex of baby, we really won't know til the little one is born, cos at our 20 week scan we were told we're having a girl...and on Monday's scan we were told a boy!....I'm still tryna get over the shock lmfao. Well I'm looking forward to finding out!

ooevaooo - I had GD but found out at 28 weeks routine tests. at 35 weeks the growth scan measured baby at 7lb, due to me having big babies anyhow they weren't overly bothered even though it was measuring 2 weeks ahead of date, but discovered he was breeched which they were more bothered about, I had to have a ceasar after unsuccessfully trying to turn him (due to size and position) and he was born at 39 weeks weighing 9lb 4oz. 8lb at 37 weeks isn't too bad but would be nice for you to have baby early (I don't think I could of handled another week pregnant as he was stuck in my ribs)They monitored rhyley's blood sugar for the first day and night, all was well there and I got to transfer to another home (close to where I lived and so much nicer than the hospital) I would say the reason for staying in longer was because of yourself instead of GD and blood sugars but all hospitals are different... my midwife didn't beleive in testing baby after day one unless not feeding well and seeming unwell - which Rhyley was fine.
If you have any questions about GD's or Blood sugar in your baby, or if you have to have ceasar (alot of babies of GD woman have one but not always the case, as my midwife was happy for me birthing virginally if it wasn't for him being breeched) you can PM me as i know when I found out I had heaps of questions...
