I'm wanting to get a bouncer for DD but don't know which to get.
I've been told the basic mesh look ones are really good but wonder if I should go with one of these or one of the 'fancier' ones with the toy bars attached?

I got a cheap bouncer from the warehouse that had a toy bar (removable) and found it great - the "standard" toys could be removed so I could put different toys on it, and take the bar off to include her in things as part of the family. The bouncer was my friend! I used to shower with her in it watching the steam and listening to me sing.

we had the standard mesh one but found she got too big for it quickly, we ended up buying one from Baby Factory it has a toy bar and you cn change toys, it also can recline mostly flat and sit up. DD still uses it as a chair .

We got one 2nd hand on TM for $40. They usually go for about $100 unless you get one on special as it reclines, is fully padded, has the toy bar, can rock or lock still, a sunshade for when you're outside and it's really big so that even DS (21mo) can still lie down in it (his feet dangle off the ends, but still).

So if you're considering a mesh one, maybe get a 'flashier' one but 2nd hand if you don't want to pay more? I carry mine around the house for when I shower, do the dinner, whatever really. It's one of our best buys.

My mum bought a 2nd-hand one for us that had the shade thing on and you can adjust the back etc on it but I hated it, simply because the toy bar was in an odd position and part of the adjuster was busted.

I bought a pedigree one a few weeks ago that is similar to the mesh ones only bigger, I think it's fantastic, found one locally for $15 on TM (new they are around $50)

I bought a 'fancy' one for Ty, with toy bar, sunshade, played music and vibrated... he HATED it! Didn' spend more than 10 minutes in it. But he loooved the bouncier mesh ones I guess it depends on the baby!
