My gf in japan has just had a wee girl (Maho) and I am packaging up a few nz gifts to send over. Was thinking of including a merino wrap but was wondering how good they were, and if anyone had a particular brand they recommend.

Also, japanese babies for some reason, seem to have terrible excema - is Merino okay for that, or would it make the problem worse?

thanks

There is a trader on Trade Me who sells Strawberry Jam brand merino wraps (will come up in a search), and they are the best I've found - really generous sizes(anything less than 1m x 1m is too small in my opinion, means you can use as cot blankets too once you stop wrapping). Lots of nice colours and different weight merino.

Sorry not sure about excema but I think cotton is better?

I have made merino wraps for Cooper & love them & still use them. Don't think it makes eczema worse because it's very breathable fabric.

I keep contemplating listing them on trademe (making more) but never get around to it.

Just had an idea, maybe include a little bottle of Alpha Keri oil & some currash to help nappy rash & eczema. I've found the Alpha Keri oil fabulous on Cooper, just put a few drops in the bath.
