I'm thinking of getting my hair thermal straightened (not chemically straightened).
Does anyone know how much it costs?

Hmmm well after googling Thermal Straightening, im guessing that is the procedure I have done with mine.
I have it done approx once every six month period and have it done at Servilles. (Ive been having my hair straightened for about four years) and I had to have a test patch done before they would do it the first time. My friend (who is a hairdresser at Servilles), cut some of the hair from the back of my head and took it in to the salon to test it for me as you cant have too many chemicals in it (such as when you dye your hair blonde, my friend couldnt have it done as the hair "melted")
It literally takes hours! The price also depends on the length of the hair, my hair is usually just to the bottom of my shoulder blades, the shortest my hair has been is shoulder length. It costs me $350-400, but I figure I only get it done twice a year and dont have really any other hair costs so it works out relatively "cheap"
I love the way my hair feels so soft and silky after having it done (and the way I never have to do anything to it, basically wash and leave) if I want it to be really soft and shiny I just run the GHDs through it. Oh and my hair is naturally very curly, think a baby sheep

tehe LF - baby sheep!
yup theres a difference between thermal and chemical ( my sis is a hairdresser but doesnt do this at her salon).
With thermal you dont get the same dry feeling that you do with chemical (they use totally different chemicals) and with thermal you can still colour your hair etc.
Sounds like you get thermal LF - i could kind of recall someone saying it was around $400 then i was told the other day that it is $600!! and i thought "no way!!??"

Actually, the first time could be that much as they do the whole head, mine is only the regrowth. I actually thought it was more than I quoted you, but I checked my bank statment, so im guessing im remembering the price from the first time I did it which was 550 (ish)

Hmm thats interesting!
Mine was 400$ to get it chem straightened... I must say its actually shinier than what it was before, and I dont think its drier either.. But good to know theres an option!
Will have to look into it next time I go...

Theres a new thing out called Brazillian BlowDry - Its a treatment that gets put on your hair, and straightened with irons after blow drying the treatment in.. then it gets washed out and your hair stays in that style :)
Google it :) A lot less damaging for your hair :)
