I'll be working all of the Friday and Saturday on the http://www.bobbyjbaby.co.nz - Bobby J Baby stand, would love to see people there!

The sales pitch: if you have a Moby wrap already, swing by the stand cos there's a free gift for those spotted wearing one. If you don't, I think they'll be $10 off at the show. She has some gorgeous baby shoes too (don't know about the discount for those).

For those that have been before- how much of a nightmare is taking a buggy? Wee man only lasts about 10min in front pack and I have no other way of carting him around

Posted By: sottise
Date Posted: 19 October 2009 at 11:35am
Caronz - we went with The Beast buggy last year and I was surprised how much of a problem it wasn't. The aisles are nice and wide and everything's well spaced out so it shouldn't be a problem.

Plus buggy = more room to store purchases. >.>

It would be a bit silly if they didn't have wide aisles for the prams!! lol

We are in CHCH and will be in Auck for this weekend, thinking about attending. Is it worth it?

Do you get lots of discounts or freebies? (sorry Mummy Becks don't mean to hijack the post!!)

Depends really. 2007 was really good and I got heaps of stuff and good deals. Last year was a write off TBH and so we won't be wasting the admission fee this year.

I think everyone has their own opinions on these as with everything else.

I guess youve got to go and experience it for yourself to know wether or not you like it and will go again.

Weve gone every year since Miss 10 was in my belly and each yr is different, some yrs are really good and there has been a few ok ones but overall they are awesome! Great discounts, awesome deals, lovely people, informative and helpful stands and a great way to see and find out about new products.

I love it and will continue to go every yr until I dont need to anymore:)

We went last year and found it great - lots of discounts and giveaways. We took DD who was around 8-9 months old so got given baby samples as well as a few toddler things. Pram wasn't a problem at all, I was surprised at how much room there was.

Not sure if I could be bothered waddling around it hevily pregnant though!

I went last year (first time) and was only just preg... wad definitely worth going, but I think I will get more out of it this year with a wee one than when just preg and having so long to go before baby is even here.

I'm going on Friday to try and avoid the weekend crowd, plus with DS at school (and its a 'dad' weekend so no pick-up that day lol) it means I dont have to rush through to be home at a particular time!

It was great! I got some new MCN's (2 Ittibittis & a nudey rudey). Just washed them in the washing machine so I can try them on DS. Also got a brolley sheet for when it's time for TT, some BioOil for the stretch marks & dry skin (luckily I didn't get any stretch marks with DS so hoping for none this time) & I got a subscription to Oh Baby. The free gift was this cool Crayola fingerpainting easel thing (which apprently is worth $35). I also got heaps of free samples. I think it was worth going. I'm on a real shopping buzz now I don't think DH is going to be happy about all the money I spent but it's his own fault for not wanting to go-if he was there he could've reined me in. Anyway, all the stuff I bought was on sale so I actually saved him money

Nudey rudey trial pack $30 (Think it's normally $40 odd?) from the Lola & Ben stand.

Trial pack Itti bitti (one SIO & one AIO) $50-it's normally $55 online. And ittibitti buy three get one free.

There were some other MCNs there but I didn't check those-I was specifically looking for these 2 brands.

I am gutted I can't come up to Auckland now . Found out late last night that DH's uncle is on his death bed in Wellington so we will have to take a trip down there and $$ wise I think hte petrol would be better used going to Welly. So gutted I can't come up and see you all, and that I can't go to the show this year.

Hey guys,
We survived day one - madness, but a cool kind of madness . It was great to see so many familiar faces, and meet a few of you that I hadn't met before. We were so busy we barely had time to sneeze, our show-only subscription offer this year is especially awesome, so if anyone is thinking of subscribing, it's a great time to do it - but get in quick, we'd hate for you to miss out if we run out of stock.
See some more of you tomorrow and Sunday!

I actually think this subscription offer is one of the best I've seen! Miss M adores her activity centre and it's nice to get something that we actually do use rather than throwing out half a goody bag that we don't get as much use out of! Love it!

Don't forget meeee!

I scared poor Ginger, had never met her IRL before and when she stopped by the stand to look at shoes I said "Hi Cuinn!"

Was lovely to see lots of "us" there, I saw Jezsika and melnel too.

On the MCNs front Snazzipants are there too (opposite itti bitti so a bit of a one stop shop). Lola & Ben's stand is lovely, I was standing opposite them looking at their stuff all day, their sleeping bags are so gorgeous and so are all those Unido slings.

I enjoyed it a lot more this year than I did last year. You guys working there are amazing to stand there all day talking to complete strangers. I'd just go all stoopid.

It's a dangerous place though. I walked out with a much lighter bank account and mum too. Took me a while to work out that most places had eftpos DUH! But grrr coz there was still something I forgot to go back and get and I really wanted it.

Subscribed to the OB mag and then when walking back to the car found a copy that someone had dropped and it was the earlier issue I didn't have.

Do you mean the spoilt rotten dolls house?

I want to get Harper the boat AND the treehouse and then I want the play house for me. That house is fully insulated, only the lounge in my 'big' house is insulated.

We had a great time this morning - got myself a poppit wrap and a mocka running bike for Harry for Christmas (only $99!). Also ordered everything we needed for next bubs - Phil and Teds double kit, cocoon and double covers... they're delivering it free and there was discounts on everything. Oh and we got Harry a cool Elmo cd for Christmas that says his name in the songs "This is the song, la la la la, Harry's song" it's awesome.

We went without Harry - I missed him and we probably got less attention (DH told me to stick out my preggie puku lol) but it was nice and relaxing not having to worry about him getting bored. It was busy but didn't feel crowded at all.

I had a great time too! I was over it after about an hour though, its pretty full on with everyone trying to get you to sign up for things and listening to all the sales talk.

I bought a natures sway sling, safety sleep, saftey wrap thing - kind of like a cot bumper and a cute little lamaze toy. I could have bought so much more there were great specials

Bombshell, i came over & asked the ladies who you were, but you were busy & i was shy so didnt say hi sorry.

I was disappointed this year as baby factory werent there But i did fork out & buy myself a trial starter pack of real nappies. cant wait for them to arrive. the lady even threw in a free night booster, is delivering for free & has even upgraded them to coloured ones! Am stoked as within a lil time of being there had managed to get both my friends i was there with to buy a buggy each! i should become a p&T seller! lmao!

Was also gutted that i didnt get the lil treasures goodie bag! For those that got one, what was in it this year?

ooh ooh *puts hand up* I went today. On my own too. Left Emily and DH at home. It was great. I got to get round the place in record time and see everything I wanted to, got what I wanted to get, and even said a quick hello to Emma and Maya at the OB stand    It was busy but I didn't think it was too crowded either. And I think being there on my own, preggy belly poking out ,carrying my heavy load of bags (I even had to make a trip to the car after only 1/2 an hour LOL to drop off some purchases and go back in), I seemed to get a lot of attention from the exhibitors who were very helpful and friendly. I think a lot of them thought it was my first pregnancy until I mentioned I'd left my toddler at home with the husband and they were like "oh, so you know what it's all about then?"

I even managed to get some christmas shopping done for babies of friends and family. Fantastic!

Bombshell I've just realised who you are    You lot must've done well this weekend - you were sooo super busy!! Sorry I couldn't hang round a bit longer and chat but I really had to get going. Besides you were so busy and I didn't want to hold you up.

Funnily enough, almost all of the OHbaby! team has taken the day off today to recover from the weekend -- it was wild! We gave away 3000 magazines and met heaps of lovely people. I also got to wander around and buy some of the show specials myself -- the best part of being at the show for three days is being able to see what everyone else has and making plans to buy! It was great to see so many familiar faces among out messageboard friends, clients, advertisers, and small businesses run by mums like us. I felt so inspired and can't wait til next year. And next time, please don't be shy about introducing yourself -- we're all friendly!

I got the Treasures goodie bag chonny. It had in it:

Magazine
Voucher for bio oil (claimed there)
Little prevage (anti-aging cream)
Mitchum deodorant
Some hair care stuff
Ribena drink
Little dove soap
Tea sachet
Little formula sachets
Other food stuff I've forgotten

So a few bits and pieces but no big awesome thing, I liked the bio oil the best as was planning on buying some so saved me $20. I liked the Oh Baby one better
