How much does your baby have of solids and how many bottles?

My DS is nearly six months old and has been on one solid feed at dinner time since 5 months, he has a total of five 200ml bottles per day at 7:30am, 11am, 2:30, 6pm, and 930pm, he has been a little grizzly the last couple of days with a stuffy nose and has not had his normal sleeps because of it but has still be having his regular feeds up until the 6pm one where he is really fussy and refuses that bottle although on offering solids he is keen, he is still a bit fussy at his 9;30 feed but will take atlteast 150mls then.

Should I drop the 5th feed and change to 4 bottles with 2 solid feeds instead?

What schedule should I try as he seems to like sleeping in until about 8am now

At that age they should be having around 1litre of milk per day. Milk should always be offered first.
Might be time to offer a solids feed maybe about 1 hour after their first bottle of the day :)

Edit: If he is fussy because of a stuffy nose maybe try some saline drops, and keep him elevated while you feed him.

as of today i have put mack (5.5 months) on bfast as well as dinner. most days he only has 4 bottles now but they are 250ml each so quite large. he has cereal and 1/2 a banana for bfast 8am (which is the same as me so we eat it together) and he eats quite big bowl of veggies for dinner round 5pm. his bottles are at 7am, 12noon, 4pm and 8pm. if he wakes during the night we feed him cos he only wakes if he is hungry but if he isnt hungry he normally talks to himself till he goes back to sleep so he misses his 5th bottle

Dani has 3 meals a day, and 5 plus bottles of 180mls (wont take larger amount - just throws it straight back at me )
She recently had a cold that turned into a chest infection so she was off her solids and her bottles for a week or so - we did the saline thing too with good results, even got one of those nasal aspiratiors (DD 5 1/2 aptly named the snot gobbler!! ) which worked a couple of times.
She has maybe 1/4 cup of solids, sometimes eats it all, sometimes leaves some! I just go with whatever she wants really.
Maybe keep the bottles but offer another meal of solids? We wait about 1/2 an hour after the bottle for the solids.
