DS has a scar on his face that heaps of people are commenting on.

He managed to fall on the clothes horse so got a puncture wound on his cheek. It has healed but has left a scar and I am really wanting to try and fade it.

I am using Bio oil and Vit A on it but does anyone else have any suggestions.

Thanks.

Try hemmoroid (SP?) cream, my cousin had her thyroid removed and had a big scar across her throat (you can imagine the comments) and she used Prep H and now has no signs of a scar. Worth a try.

Rosehip oil is supposed to be good as well.

How long has he had the scar? Aoife headbutted the corner of a coffee table at Xmas and the scar didn't disappear for about 5 months.

Jack's scar on his forehead is going to be there forever - he's a boy, it makes them look manly

Sorry not much help, I've just been using bio-oil but can't really be bothered. Think he'll just match his dad, who has one down the side of his face from a car crash.

tishy, thats interesting that it took that long. His is only about 5 weeks old so am probably stressing over nothing. Will stick with the bio oil and vit A for a while longer then.

As long as the scar is still pink you can make it fade, once its white then it wont change much in appearance so at 5 weeks it still pretty early days.

Silicon gel is really good. It comes in little packs and sticks onto the area but you can also secure it with tape. Its good to use overnight. We use it at work, but you could probably get it at a pharmacy.

For some reason I read DH and not DS.......oops! I would not use hemmoroid (SP?) cream on a little one SORRY! Looks there are lots of other good options to try though.
