Hi All,
For anyone who knows Juzzo, she is in hospital at the moment. She has been bleeding pretty much continually for over a week, her waters have broken and she is 24 weeks on Friday.
Needless to say, the stress has been high.
Still, she has asked me to let you all know that she is ok and the baby is doing well.
Cheers,
Rich.

Lots of love and postive vibes to Juzzo from a former March 09 Mummy. We've had more than our share of sadness on our thread.
To baby Juzzo, even though you are desperate to meet your mummy and daddy you need to stay put for at least a few days or even better yet a few weeks until you can get nice and strong.

Like Chickielou said being pregnant on a good day can be stressful. While we haven't all experienced what you guys are going through I think we can all understand the tremendous love you have for your little son and the fears you have for his well-being since we each love/will love our babies like that. I'm praying you'll all get through this with the most positive outcome possible xx

Hugs to Juzzo and family! Baby Juzzo you just stay where you are! Mummy Juzzo and Daddy love you very much, and want to be able to give you lots of cuddles when you arrive in a few weeks time!
GonnaBeAMum I have a friend who had her water's break at 21 weeks, and spent 3 months in hospital with anitbiotics, bedrest etc and bubs was delivered naturally at 33 weeks. With the right supervision bubs can stay put as long as baby juzzo wants.

well.. it seems the support keeps rolling on in. Thats always a good thing, Justine will feel better knowing there are others that are spurring her on. (she could never let a challenge go by).
Had a meeting with the neonates doctors on tuesday, stated what could happen to the wee man if he was born at 24 weeks. It was a litany of despair, theres not a whole heap thats good when born that early. That being said, the more serious ones (cerebral palsy!!) are rare, and the longer he stays where he is, the less likely they are.
Janie is right (*wave*), we were told of another woman whose waters were leaking (ok, broken was not the right word) and she made it to week 33. so, heres hoping for something similar.
The last few days have been good, the bleeding has reduced (we've been told its probably there to stay) and that has meant Justines mood is better. meant my life is better. (did i say that?)
btw, his name is Harlow Ely. Just in case your wondering >:]
Cheers,
Rich.

Hi Rich,
Thanks so much for coming on. Takes a big guy to come on a site with just a whole bunch of pregnant women.
I'm in the March group with Juzzo and I wish you both and Harlow all the strengh in the world.
Is Juzzo getting bored or is she ok. I could send some books your way. She was telling us about a great book she was reading so I know she enjoys reading.
Can you ask her for me and if so I'll send some to you for her.
I have a PM with your address as I sent some boy clothes up for you a couple of weeks ago.
Tell her I'm thinking of her all the time and that the March girls are sending hugs to her all the time.
Thanks Rich

scan time this morning, Harlow is growing well and is as healthy as an ox. an ox that lives in a matchbox. there is basically no fluid left, he will not be doing a tango anytime soon.
at 24w3d, he is 689 grams. he has put on about 160g in 2 weeks, thats pretty good im told.
Justine had small contractions over the weekend, nothing alarming, they went away by themselves.
meantime, the bleeding continues...

Hang in there little Harlow - and your mummy too, bed rest is not so much fun.
In terms of how long waters can stay "broken" - my mum's waters broke at 27 weeks with my youngest brother and they kept her in hospital flat on her back giving her steroids and other things to stop labour. They kept saying "if we can just hang on one more week" every week and in the end she made it to 36 1/2 weeks before he was finally born weighing 7lbish. And that was 23 years ago - I'd imagine things are a whole lot more refined these days.

ok, so there is more news... Harlow was born this morning.
I know you ladies will want all the gory details, so here they are from a mans point of view.
1. phonecall at 2:30am. having contractions again.
2. text at 3:08am saying they had done an internal and the cervix was closed.
3. phonecall at 3:45am from a midwife saying I was required.
4. arrived at 4:20 to find I was 15 minutes late. He had been born at 4:05am. 725 grams.
That puts him at 24 weeks 6 days.
the birth was "hard" [edited by dad] with the whole thing over in about 55 minutes, woah to go. he was a normal birth, but born breach. there was no fluid at all.
when I got there, he was in NICU getting his grease and oil ( I got to hold his hand for a bit ) then back to Girlie and her room for breakfast/ debrief. Back to NICU for more watching where Justine got to hold his hand also.
He now has more hoses/ lines/ cables/ tape/ etc going everywhichway, hooked up to some damn impressive looking gadetry.
He is good. His stats are all normal to excellent. He is pink, flapping his limbs around, looking like a a pug dog with his fur plastered to his head.
he didnt happen overnight, but he is worth it.
cheers,
rich.

Justine and Rich - congrats. It's fabulous to hear little Harlow is looking so good when he's so underdone. He'll be an old hand at life by the time the rest of us Due in Marchers get around to delivering. Love to you all and wishing the best health to your little one.

So glad he made it past that 24 weeks!
Congrats on your little Harlow, Justine and Rich. We will still be here all eagerly awaiting updates and if you ever just need to chat or unload your thoughts.
He sounds like a fighter and I have no doubts that he will be fine. Scary to think that one of our Marcher's is already out... even if he was a little impatient to meet mum and dad!
Good luck and all my love

Congratulations on the safe arrival of little Harlow, I hope you are all well. Harlow will be in the bestest of care, NICU are just amazing. Ask as many questions as you want as NICU are there for you in every way.
One thing that may slip your mind as I'm sure you're busy getting used to life in NICU is take your camera and take plenty of photo's and video's of Harlow especially one's of him next to a measurable item. Even though they don't do much in their incubators I wish I had video's of them. That's one of the things I regereted the most is not having enough photo's & video's of the boys in NICU.
I would also say don't be affraid to talk to some of the other dads & mums in NICU as they're a great support/network who are going through the same thing as you.
Take care.
