We just followed the directions on the pack (per age group)..
Laura did however seem hungry once she finished each smaller bottle so I sort of went from that.

Laura went through mega growth spurts... but shes a strange one anyway

growth spurt evidence..... will possibly sleep a bit more and then suddenly fill the clothes a bit more...Sean and Andrew used to go through grizzly days where they would just want to sleep, eat and grizzle and then a day or two later not fit into their clothes.

not enough formula?...will finish what is in the bottle and still be grizzly and sucking away for more or not sleep as long as before. Provided she is steadily putting on weight, you should be fine. The guidelines on the side of the tin were pretty good in terms of ages and number of bottles.

With Andrew we worked out that he would stop drinking when he was full and stick to around that amount for a few weeks before taking a little more. He's always been pretty vocal about when he was hungry and never really let us not feed him enough.

its just been a strange couple of days and today, she had a bottle at 10am, and emptied all but 20mls, then she screamed for a feed at 1am (which was an hour away from her normal time) and she drained all but 10mls and she has been asleep for the past 3 hours, and im just wondering if i let her sleep until 6pm which would put us back on our normal routine or wake her at 5pm for the next four hourly feed.

I'd personally let her sleep...sleep is good growing time...and maybe see if she wants a little more formula when she wakes up.

yeah she slept until about 5.10pm, i let her kick on the floor without a nappy for a little bit, gave her a bath and she wanted a feed at 5.45pm, so its now 9.30pm and shes starting to show signs of being hungry so will feed her shortly

We followed Andrew's clues. He started on 60 mls and then as he was drinking it all at every feed, we put it up to 120mls at first he would only drink about 80mls, but that 20mls was enough to get him through a bit longer.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Im certainly no baby expert but what about adding another 50ml to the bottle and seeing if she drinks bit more at each feed? When I started brooke on formula it was frustrating cause she would only drink max of 150ml for mths!!!!then she started drinking more and more and till she got sick a wk ago could polish of 1000ml a day.and three solid feeds and cple crackers......wish she would get back to that. every baby different and the guide on the tin is exactly that!!!bubs will drink different everyday.A really good thing to do is write down in little notebook what time the feeds are and how much was drunk and you can really see patterns.Im still doing it!!!!
