Where are you going and what are you doing?

Do you go to the same spot each year or somewhere different.

We'll be having Christmas at my Dad's at Piha and staying in Auckland for a week visiting Rangitoto and prob the Zoo.

But now I live an 8 hour drive from Akl need to find somewhere a bit closer to home.

This summer ain't looking so good for me. DP is needing spine surgery in January so I'll be likely looking after him

Oh that sucks lemongirl, I hope things go well.

We aren't doing anything. DH is taking 2 weeks off but there are 3 speedway meetings on during that time. Will probably have lunch with DH's mums family, and dinner with his parents (just a chilled laid back dinner) followed by dominoes.

Nothing for us this year, I'll either be HUGE and hot and sticky or we'll be very new parents

As kids we used to go to the same camp spot just north of Taupo every year. DF and I are getting into camping and are on the hunt for the perfect spot to make our regular

We're having Xmas in Chch with MIL, then on Boxing Day morning heading to Omarama (Mackenzie Country) to camp riverside for 2 weeks with my family. Family tradition that was started about 45 years ago, my grandma still goes and she's 76 (and probably the busiest one of us all down there as she won't sit still).

DH gets a month off, so he'll still be on holiday for Jack's bday so we'll probably have a party for that too.

We never do anything over summer as DH works constantly over that time, I have gotten use to it, but reading everyones holiday plans makes me wish we were going camping or at least doing a weekend trip somewhere.

I will probably do lots of trips to the beach with DD and Christmas will be at my parents place just down the road.

us to heidismum - DH only gets christmas day off (hes a chef) summer is the busiest time for him,

Last year we pitched the tent down the bottom of our section, put up the pool, bbq etc and locked up the house. We stayed down there for a week and DH toodled off to work every day, while I took the kids to the mount beach, parks etc Perhaps the same again this year, lol

We'll be new parents too, so not a lot going on here. Staying around home a lot should be good.

We never go away over Christmas/NY as that is when everyone goes away so there are always too many people and loud children for our liking.

We leave our holiday until February when all of the lovely wee children are safely back in their schools

We've camped at Kennedy Park in Napier, and the Doc camp ground at Rimutaka Forest Park, we've also camped at the Blue Lakes in Rotorua.
I like the Top 10 campgrounds.
We also camped at Oakura on Taranaki we go camping at least once a year.

We are going camping at Mangaweka (somewhere in the middle of the North Island with the big cookietime aeroplane) later in January. Pretty awesome spot I have been camping with my parents before I was born. We go with the same group of people and it is so much fun catching up with all the kids who are getting older and starting their own families there.

I used to go up to Sandspit, North of Auckland with my family over newyears every year too but now we have our own little ones it is a bit far to travel. We usually just spend the time around NewYears and Christmas close to home with lots of fun day trips. There will probably be a bit of work to be done on the house too.

It will be the first time camping with the kidlets... I'm excited but very nervous. Lol.

Hate to tell you the areoplane is no longer a cookie time plane, tehy have painted it the same colours as the new cafe there . My boys were very dissapointed yesterday when we drove past it.
