Why don't you ring round the churches and see who runs the mainly music groups/playgroups?? They can be great!

mainly music have a website with a list of where they have sessions. plunket should have a list of different playgroups in your area. the local library usually runs something too. mine does a musical storytime and some do a music thing for younger kids up to 2.

Yeah I was going to suggest Mainly Music too. Ours run for half an hour then they put on morning tea for the kids and adults, and then they play for an hour or so. And its only $3 a family which is awesome!

We did Mainly Music, I was out walking one day & a church I went past had a sign out so went in & joined up, they also had mum groups some weeks where you could go & the kids went in to a play group & were looked after & u could have a cuppa & do some crafts & just de-stress it was great, should go back.

Kindy age depends on the kindy, the one we go to takes them from 3yrs 8mths because of their role.

We went to one that was not close to us cause they could get DS2 in straight away he was 3 & a couple of months, but we xfered to one closer when they had a place for him.

DS3 will start afternoon kindy when he is 3y&8mths FX, then goes to morning kindy when 4y & 3-4mths, & I can not wait, roll on March.

Also another great place is plunket they often have a play/coffee group. There are lots out there, try CAB they may have a list for what is in your area.

Just quickly.... Some private kindies start from 2 - I've enrolled Harry to start in Jan.  Would just be a matter of ringing the kindies in your area and asking what age they go from.

Also mainly music is awesome.  Oh and we take Harry to 'toddler gym' at our local community centre/youth centre - is really good and cheap ($32 a term), don't know if you have anything like that in your area?
