Hi Ladies, I had a D&C on Tuesday, I had what I would relate to normal AF cramping Tuesday and Wednesday, then yesterday and today the cramping has become worse. Was bad enough to wake me up and keep me up last night and this is probably way TMI but when #2's is happening the cramps get really bad too.
Just wondering is this normal?? I had kind of expected the cramps post op to be worse then getting better as the days go on. I don't really know if I should be worried and go to my MW or doc or just wait and see. -------------  Angel Babies Nov 09, May 10, Dec 10

First of all Didi, sorry for you loss.
Miscarriage sucks a lot. To be honest the only time I had really, really nasty cramps is when they gave me the pill before they did the procedure and I hadn't had any pain medication yet. I had a pretty heinous and long recovery from my D&C (3 weeks including a hospital stay for infection due to retained product) but I knew from the outset wasn't quite 'right' and really wished I had been a lot more assertive. So my only piece of advice is that if you are worried, go see your doctor. It might be nothing, but it's better to have it checked out. |

I'm with Lemongirl with that one, my last DnC wasn't a good one either, long recovery because nothing was done about pain and bleeding. Go and see your doctor/MW, just to be sure

Thnaks for the advice girls, have booked myself in to see my GP today.

| Didi I wouldn't worry about crying, they are well used to it. Infact, when I was having treatment for my miscarriage they were more concerned that I wasn't crying. |

Sorry for your loss hun.
I agree better to be safe than sorry. And yep crying is totally normal. I cried at the 6 week check with my GP after my D&C Totally normal though  I hope all is ok.------------- Our Angel July 08  Gone but not forgotten
And to complete our family, our princess has arrived

I hope your appointment went ok Didi. I didn't have any cramping at all (and minimal bleeding) after my D&C, so it's good that you're getting it checked out to make sure everything is ok.

i agree with the others i had no cramping but a lot of bleeding(they had to inject me at hospital) but no other issues... hope you got on ok at doc.. ------------- Mum to two amazing boys! |

Thanks for all the support girls.
My GP had a poke of my tum and seemed to think I had some inflamation which apparently combined with everything moving back into shape was probably making things a bit more painfull than they needed to be. They did nick my cervix in the op which caused quite a bit of bleeding, and this is probably the cause of the inflamation. Got some painkillers and anti-biotics which did the trick and gave me a few pain free nights sleep, which was much needed. ------------- Angel Babies Nov 09, May 10, Dec 10

| I'm glad things are on the mend. I know that one of the most common pieces of advice you hear about pregnancy is 'listen to your body.' Which can be quite hard if you've had a missed miscarriage as you're thinking 'my body was telling me I was pregnant for the last few weeks when I wasn't.' |
