So, we're finally entertaining the idea of *maybe* trying for another baby after Christmas (depending on how Jackson does in the coming while).
We're only having two kids, and I would very much like a girl. Of course I would obviously love any baby we were gifted with, but having a little girl has always been on my wish list. And to be honest, I am a bit scared of having another boy incase he had the same issues as Jackson (and boys are more likely to have reflux than girls).
Anyway, please don't condemn me, but we're thinking of trying the Natural Sex Selection methods. Also will act as a much needed diet too, because the methods for creating a girl might as well be called the "no fun" methods - no caffiene, no alcohol, no chocolate, no sweets, no avocado, no orgasms....
We had a few issues conceiving, so we think we'll give this a crack for a couple of months but give up pretty quick. As I said, if we end up with a boy I'll love him just as much and not be devastated!
Has anyone used natural sex selection methods before? Did it work for you? What are your thoughts?

There was a thread on this recently
http://www.ohbaby.co.nz/Forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=29747 - linky
I think we would have given it a go for #2 if we were actually TTC but poss only for a couple of months as it seems to me if you're trying for a girl could be making it harder on yourself to conceive at all (unless you were trying O+12 which sounds pretty tricky to get exactly right!). Some good links in that other thread

Hmmm, you'd think I'd know the secret to having girls by now lol, but nope - 'tis totally random for us. The gremlins were conceived one day before ovulation and lil miss was conceived on ovulation day.

According to the Shettles Method, we should be having a boy as the month we conceived, we only BDed on OV day and the day after (I was a very precise charter). We find out next week so I'll be very interested to see if the theory worked with us. I have a friend who tried it but it didn't work for her.

Ooh how exciting! I have no idea if it works, but I hope you get your baby girl
I think DP and I will try for a girl next time, assuming number 2 is actually planned lol. But no orgasms... Is that just during sex, or ever? Cause I'm sure torturing yourself like that would be counter productive!

We were going to try this but its too hard. I figure I will get what I am given but am praying very hard that the girl sperm wins the race!
*mentally repels or male sperm from her body*
GL with it, hope it works for you

I mean you've got a 50% chance either way! My DH always says you get what you need...not necessarily what you want. I think he's right. I was totally set on a girl first time round & ended With a boy (I cried for 2 days when I found out he was a boy), but now I LOVE boys & I hope the next one is a boy too. I totally needed a boy...

I totally agree with this! i had 2 boys first then a girl..and there are sooooo many reasons why i think it was meant to be that way

Ha ha Chelle... DH said the same - no surprise we had a boy!!
Thanks for the replies. It seems like a hassle, but I guess it's worth a shot. Even if it only slightly improves our chances....
Don't get too excited though people - still just a possibility at the moment! Wanna see how Jackson does for a little longer.
