Are you wanting somewhere central? Do you have a car? Are you after something reasonably priced?

I would check out wotif.com

I have only ever stayed in Wellington without the kids and stayed at the Mecure on Willis St. It was really nice, well priced and good walking distance to everything.

Not sure what kind of accomodation you are after but Hutt Park Top 10 seems to have a good reputation. It is out in the Hutt but there is buses that leave from outside to Wellington every half an hour I think it is. Otherwise its a pretty easy drive to Wellington anyways.

Hotel, motel or homestay? Any kind of price indicator?

There are a number of quest apartment complexes and you could get a 2 bedroom that would fit the whole family.

we are going to drive down so travel is no hassle, it will be all five of us and i dont want to pay the earth so something reasonable would be good.

Have you thought about maybe renting a cheap beach house?? A lil way from Wgtn, half an hour or so the beaches start! Kids would love it :)

We stayed at Centr@l Stratford Apartments on Willis St when we were in town a few weeks back. They have two bedroom apartments which should be big enough for all of you. They are fairly new and nice and clean. Really handy to everything in town, you can walk everywhere! But I think we had to pay for parking in the building across the road (you pay the apartment ppl, they give you a pass). It has washer/dryer, dishwasher, separate bedroom/lounge...

Depends where you want to be and what kind of accommodation you want really!

I like the beach house idea myself!

We stayed in an apartment on Lambton Quay (Quest) it had two bedrooms and it was $199.00 it's literally a two minute walk to Frank Kitts!

It had two single beds and a double bed but they also had a portacot, so you could put one child in there?

Anyway we found it through book a bach .. the best thing about it was that there was no check in or check out time persay, we were able to get in as soon as we arrived and they let us check out when our flight was due.
