My DS 5yrs old has been invited to a star wars bday party...........I have been to virtually every shop i can think of to find a mask or something i can make into something star warsy. ZIP NOTHING NADA

Almost every party he has been to or function at school has been dress up and Im sick of having to pay money for costumes or material for costumes to go to them, not to mention a bday present on top of it all etc.

I dont mind buying a cheap mask and can improvise the rest. ............

So my question is, does anyone know where they have seen any star wars things, I am 36 weeks preg and can only walk so much around shops looking in every shop, or if they have any ideas on how to make something with little materials or stuff from around the home etc

Do you have access to a colour printer? here's some http://www.starwars.com/kids/activity/crafts/f20041027/index.html - masks that you can download free, then maybe improvise something for the bottom half?

Grrr at expensive dress-up parties!

You could do a Yoda costume? There's a tutorial http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2009/10/kids_yoda_costume.html?CMP=OTC-5JF307375954 - here but as long as you could work out how to do the hat, all you'd need would be a green t shirt, some leggings and a brown belted dressing gown.

ETA - or use one of those masks!

Otherwise you could just get or make a simple robe (another tutorial http://www.degraeve.com/jedirobe/ - here ) and pick up a light saber toy from the warehouse...

I would just dress him all in black and print out the darth vader mask .. although that only works if you have black clothes.
