Hi, does anyone know if it is safe to have these(i.e. Robocan, Konk, Mortein etc) in the house while PG? The spiders & mozzies are driving me insane!

i never used ours while pregnant. Im unsure weather it is safe or not. Better not until you find out. Read the back of the can

The back of the can is not much help but I kept ours to a minimum when I was pregnant. I googled for info on this just yesterday as I'm cautious about using it round our 3 monther...not much useful info out there unfortunately. It's mostly people raving about it purely because it's natural (like natural somehow = safe).

I started a thread on the topic of these things a while ago, you might find it useful http://www.ohbaby.co.nz/Forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=22276&KW=flies - Here's the link.

(I still haven't found the answer, btw! I'm mildly asthmatic and get hay fever so I avoid pyrethrins.)

I have used it all the way through. Its either that or getting the house sprayed. I have never heard anything that would make me not want to use it - especially at this time of year!

Never thought of it to be honest! Used it with both all the way through but only on the lowest time dose. BTW both my kids are fine.

Yea I have raid one and I think its fine, my daughter has very sensitive skin and allergies but I had to get the insect repellent as she is so allergic to insects, and it hasnt caused any reaction on her at all, which is a miracle!

I have wondered about this but not worth taking the risk to not use coz we get mossies up here (and ants blurgh) and there is the risk of malaria up here in North QLD.

We've had one for years and I've never thought about it being bad until I saw this. I hate insects so couldn't be without it and I haven't had any problems.

thanks for all the advice, went out and bought a raid one....its fantastic, no more insects.

Every time it goes off, the cat freaks out and runs off & hides! hehe it should entertain me for a while :-)

I don't need one cos my cat manages to catch and eat anything flying/crawling The house is blissfully bug free

hehe ditto Itchy_feet. When our cat was a kitten I trained him to catch and eat flies, moths, spiders etc. Now he loves it.

We work as a team if he can't reach. I hold his back legs and support him under his chest and move him round after the insect, that leaves his front legs free to attack! Then he gobbles whatever he catches so there's no clean up either

hehe my cats useless, mind you hes pretty old now. He will only catch flies if they fly right past his nose, or land on him.

Haha Rubysoho - I do the same with my cat - I thought I was the only loopy one to do it It's so funny when he sees a fly he can't reach - he comes to find me so I can lift him up... he gets so excited! Hmm I wander what tricks I can teach the baby

My cat might swat fly if it landed on her nose, but is about it!

We have a spray can, and I figure if it is okay for the pets it is okay for me.
