I haven't been on a bus for years. I will be traveling soon with DS and was wondering what the deal was with buggies on buses?
Can you just steer it on?
Do you pay for the baby?
Is there seating?
TIA

I thought the buggies go on the back, that's where I've seen them.

Most Auckland buses ive been on you just wheel the pram on, they have set seats that fold up so that you can put the pram in and sit down. (SD said he just used to stand in the aisle as he was never travelling very far).
Having said that Ive only travelled on the link .. or on Metro buses, im not sure about other routes.
Oh and you dont pay for the baby.

I have done it, but off peak times & only if there is enough room, (that is with baby in it. I found it a real hassle so walked most places, when baby was small, I have taken the stroller on folded with no bother.
I guess it depends on your buses.

Yep, I regularly used buses when Sam was a bit smaller. In Hamilton there are seats for wheelchairs and pushchairs that fold up. If there is someone sitting in them, they are usually pretty good about moving to another seat. Children under 5 are free I think, but not sure about other places.

I think the seats that fold up are actually priority seating for old people and pregnant people, sick people and prams.....so if there are people there that are not those things then by rights they should move :-)
