Does anyone prefer an earlier stage in their childs life to where they're at now?
I've decided I preferred the boys when they were babies at 8/9months than this toddler age of 15months (although they're not walking yet which scares the heeby jeebies out of me). I know the stages are so different but I have to admit to prefering the baby stage more. Maybe it's because I have twins but man are they demanding, draining on me, cheeky and tempremental. I love them to bits and love the new level of interaction with them as they understand more and can communicate more but I preferred when they were 8 months. When they couldn't move (or limited crawling), always happy, slept more, undemanding, easily readable, easy to feed... I'm not saying I'm not having fun with my boys as they are full of smiles and ENERGY! But out of choice would like to go back to them being 8/9months old. I really enjoyed it when Maddi started walking. Suddenly a whole new world opened up to her.
I do miss the early baby stage too when she would sleep anywhere and didnt need to be constantly entertained. Keira was a horrid baby so never really enjoyed any of the early staged. When she turned 4 she went through a lovely stage where she suddenly seemed like a real little person and was just fun to hang out with. -------------

I hear what you're saying Yvette! I loved 6 months, 9 months (once 9monthitis passed) and 15 months. This phase is cool cos I can see his wee brain developing but there is just this constant challenge for us parents of what's going on with you, where are you at and what do we need to do?! I also find it hard cos just when you feel you're getting on top of them, they change and we have to change too!

I get what you mean, but I'm really loving the age JJ's at now  - just developing so much personality. It seems to go in waves, maybe something to do with growth spurts, I have days where I'd happily give him away for a couple of weeks but that's always followed by a couple of weeks of "isn't he cool"  -------------

Sometimes I wish he was wee again so I can give him a big big squeeze! Watch him coo away and just sit there cradling him again - aaawww.
But I do love the age he is now - probably from around 15mths to now. We can go on lovely walks together and I love it when he holds my hand. I don't have to pick him up all the time, my back has a new lease on life 
I love how he runs up to tell me something really important! Sometimes I understand, sometimes I just agree  It sounds oh so cute either way.
I love dancing and singing together. But most of all, he gives the best cuddles and kisses - out of the blue, just when he feels like it

I'm loving the age that lil miss is at now (almost 17 mths - eek! ), her little personality is emerging and she is just so cute and lovable and cuddly and chattery. I missed this age with the gremlins really coz I was heavily pregnant will lil miss and too sick, tired and fat to appreciate it.
I'm loving the age the gremlins are at too (just turned 3) - the questions, the way they try to rationalise things in their world. I'm not enjoying Sienna's stubborness or Mercedes' grizzliness tho. And Maya is in a bit of a feral stage atm, but she has her lovely moments. I've found with all of my kids that it seems to go in cycles - they'll have 3 or 4 mths where they are really hard work and i am tearing my hair out, then literally overnight they suddenly become really delightful again and they're like that for another few months. Apparently most kids are like that, or at least according to the Playcentre training I did. -------------  Maya Grace (28/02/03)

I'm loving the 18 months to 2 years stage with Rowan. She's so cuddly and loving and her vocabulary is amazing. It's great finally getting insight into that head of hers.
She's got a great sense of humour too. -------------

To be completely honest, in general I have only really *really* enjoyed Natalie from about 12 months - I guess when she started walking. Not that we didn't have good moments under a year, but with the allergies palava, plus her constant stranger danger thing from 2 months to about a year, it was very hard work.
I would have been happy to have her arrive at a year old But I'm loving this stage now, even though some days it's very hard work, it's just great to see her interacting with objects/people and also that she can entertain herself and go where she wants, and the things she comes up with that I haven't concsciously 'taught' her 
I guess it's being able to see her turning into a little person with a sense of humour, and generally she's more fun to be around each day (says the mummy who was so happy to have a morning away from her yesterday )-------------

Oh, thanks guys. I just read these all now and suddenly have a big smile on my face. This phase will pass and soon they'll be walking - eeek but I can't wait really as it will be so sweet to see them totter around. I'm definately not saying I don't enjoy seeing them development and we were just so excited watching Eli take his first steps and love how much they understand now. | I really enjoyed DP's daughter at 4 going on 5 when she was just about to start school. School changes them a whole bunch if they haven't done daycare or much kindy. |

| I loved the wee wee newborn stage, all he did was sleep and i could do anything and he looked cute. THen if we could just skip to about 10months this is been a fun stage. |
