I'm in my 19th week and beyond bigger boobs and a litle sorness (like a pulled groin muscle) I'm not feeling anything. I've not really filled out nor do I have much of a belly.

I saw my midwife about 3 weeks ago and there was a heartbeat and movement but since then there's been nothing. I've got my 20 week scan coming up but I've not felt the fluttering that everyone talks about and am feeling anxious that something is wrong.

Is this normal?

Yes :) For some women, especially in a first pregnancy, feeling movements can come later than expected. Do you know if your placenta is at the front? This can also reduce our ability to feel the babes movements as it acts as cushioning.

I'm sure that in a few more weeks time you'll be wanting the baby to stop moving for a while - I sure don't miss little feet stuck up under my ribcage, or a wee head bouncing on my bladder

Everyone is different with when they 'pop' out and feel movements. I'm sure everything is fine. But if you are really worried ring your midwife and tell her. I think some midwives let you go in to listen to the heartbeat if you are feeling anxious.

It's possible you have an anterior placenta which can mean it's harder to feel movement because it's kinda cushioned. It's still within the normal range not to be feeling movements as late as 20 weeks There is a slight chance something's up but the anatomy scan will check everything out thoroughly. You'll be seeing your midwife again soon and I'm sure she'll be able to reassure you by finding the heartbeat again. And trust me, when you get to the third trimester you'll be sick of all the kicking and punching

I've never felt any fluttering and I still have to tell people I'm pregnant as unless I'm wearing a skin tight top, you can't tell. I was worried like you too, St lves, but after the anatomy scan, all's good.

oh thanks!

That's put me at ease and I've got a catch up with my midwife shortly. I think they said something last time about the placenta being towards the front so maybe that's it.

it won't be until I see the baby on the scan again that I'll breathe out and relax I reckon.

With my first baby , I didn't feel her move til I was about 21 weeks, and I didn't look pregnant , until I was 7months pregnant, and then I only looked 4months.

Good luck for your scan ,Im sure everything will be fine

Its different even with each bubba...i had an anterior placenta last time and its posterior with this bub, and the difference is huge! I could feel bubs at 12 weeks and now I feel every little thing! Last time though, I felt her of course but nothing as strong as this time..
I remember feeling like that though, when you dont 'feel' pregnant enough for things to be going right...theres not much you can do but try to relax and focus on other things until your next appointment or scan :)
