I've been through it like 4 times and wiped it all out with cold water, with hot and with cold again, thrown out some stuff that *may* have been iffy (DF says it was fine and its just my strange nose!!)
But it still smells!! Even DF says it smells!!!! All it has in it now is some fresh fruit/vege, a couple of mayonaise/tom sauce etc/ some yoghurts and marg/cheese/butter (all new) Do you have ANY idea what I can do to get rid of the smell?!!!! It's driving us nuts!!! |

Baking soda in a dish also absorbs smells in the fridge.

There's no pooled water under the vege bin is there? That happened in my friend's fridge. But it could just be your preggy senses. -------------

No water... Just double checked...
Definately not just me as DF can still smell it... Wonder if BOTH lemon and baking soda will work well 
Think we are getting a new fridge anyways, it seems to be playing up  turning on off... Which I thought may have caused it but we've aired it out and all!!! SO not having much luck!!!

Vanilla essence also works, use a paper towel to wipe it around. Might have to be proper vanilla essence not the fake stuff - I dunno!
Normally the lemon trick works well tho, I would squeeze the juice into water and wipe around fridge then leave another half in the fridge overnight as well to aborb any extra smells. Also...is it a fridge freezer? Maybe it is something in the freezer if so? -------------

Yep, I couldn't stand the smell of our fridge my whole pregnancy and was forever cleaning it.
The racks in our fridge have a thing that slides along the front of them. (Can't explain it better sorry) But, once when there was a smell in our fridge it was milk that had spilt and dried in there. Gross as it took a couple of days to figure it out.

check the back of it where the water drains into - my other fridge would do that and it would get really smelly - a good clean out of the water clogged there and what ever else got there and it normally sorts it out. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I saw on a TV program the other day they cut a lemon in half, scooped out 80/90% of the flesh and filled it with normal table salt and put it in a dish in the fridge - aparently without the majority of the flesh the lemon rind will stay good for weeks. -------------
