i wouldnt worry at all about losing weight, its really common. fundal height is usually the same as how many weeks you are which would mean your about 3 weeks behind. i doont think its cause for alarm but im sure as long as your midwife knows whats going on she'll send you for a scan to check everything is alright :) when do you next see her and did she say anything at your last appt about it?

Apparently the cm per week is a fairly loose guide. As long as you are no more than 3 weeks behind or 5 weeks ahead they are happy with it. Outside those guidelines they should send you for a growth scan. How did your measurements go with the boys?

monikah - I saw her on thursday after my hospital stay, she didnt say anything and actually did mention something about the weight loss this time, even though Ive been saying something every week since about 24 weeks!
I did get my fh measured at 27+5 by the ob who said it was 31 cm then, so to go back to 28cm I thought was od.

I dont know
I see the midwife in 2 weeks so will ask her about it then I guess

Mine has gone up and down a bit lately depending on how engaged the baby is. If its head is further into the pelvis, the fundal height drops. If it pops back up again, the fundal height increases again. That might explain some of the variation?

Not sure about the fundal height, my MW has never measured mine, just feels for it and nods so I guess its in the right place.

As for the weight loss, I wouldnt worry too much about that unless your MW says something. Remember you have been throwing up and/or unable to eat for a long time, eventually that will take its toll.

When I had my daughter I was 5kgs lighter the day before I had her than I was when I fell pregnant and the MW and drs were not worried.. Mind you I had PLENTY of reserves Still do actually lol

re the fundal height if she wasnt worried i wouldnt worry but it should increase every time you go as its the uterus that's measured not the baby.. ? i know mine's been 3-4 ahead and then last time was slowing down to just one near the end.. I'm losing weight now too but i have plenty of reserves:) for you i would imagine its not being able to keep the food down etc?

I ended up with the midwife here yesterday and she measured my fh again and this time it was 32.5cm, surely it can't just up 4.5cm in 1 week?!?!

tastic i think what has happened is that the OB may measure it from a slightly different point to your midwife. i think the best thing to do is only take the measurements that your midwife does.
