Hey ladies
I'm freaking out a bit and hoping some of you might be able to give me some info. I'm 4w2days pregnant and am under the care of a FS bc I've had 2 mc (unknown reasons, one at 5w, one at 13w). Now, with this pg, I've been on 400mg of progesterone pessaries since 10DPO bc my P4 dropped to 39 and apparently they like to keep it above 40. Since then:
10 dec P4 = 93, HCG = 27
12 dec P4 = 108, HCG = 99
Then today (14 dec) P4 dropped to 89, but HCG still more than doubling (if more slowly) to 233.
The nurse that gave me the results told me to increase my progesterone to 600 (ie. 3 pessaries) and come back thurs.
But what does this mean? Is 3 pessaries a lot? Do I need to worry as long as P4 stays above 40? And why would it drop again now after it had been rising? Has anyone else had anything like this? What does it mean?
Thx

You progesterone levels look good - i think they are just playing it safe by increasing your dose. I was on 600mg from ovulation until 12 weeks, i think mine dropped to just under 40 when they were monitoring it, they actually stopped monitoring it at 7 weeks.

Your progesterone does drop, because the placenta starts to form and takes over. Your prog levels are still good - when I got my BFP my prog level was 20 or thereabouts (the reason for my recurrent m/cs) so I was on 1 prog pessary 3 times a day (so 600mg) until 10 weeks. You need a level of 40 to sustain a pregnancy early on, until the placenta starts to form and takes over.
Your HCG is doing what it needs to, and that's the important thing!!!
