Hi girls,
I'm looking for a NP local to help me out here. DH and I are going to Fleetwood Mac this Sunday and I'm very confused about the what we can take to the Bowl of Brooklands. It says we are not allowed deck chairs, sand chairs or any other type of seat made with hard materials. Does this mean we can sit on picnic blankets only? My husband's got a bad back and every other outdoor concert we've ever been to, we've taken deck chairs. My parents are coming, too and at 65, they'll be okay sitting on the ground for 3 or so hours but then it got me thinking, what if they were 10 years older? And also, being pregnant, I would prefer a seat rather than the ground. What if I were over 30 weeks? I can understand no deck chairs as you could potentially block someone's view behind you if they haven't brought a chair themselves but no sand chairs?? Perhaps they've said no chairs made of hard materiasl as you could use them as a weapon but this is Fleetwood Mac, not Marilyn Manson. Most of the audience will be over 60. Or is there an obvious solution I'm not thinking of? The annoying thing is, this was only brought to my attention after I had purchased the tickets. It's printed on the tickets and I've also been sent 2 emails stating their deck/sand chair policy. I'm worried now that DH will opt not to go sitting as on the ground will cause him so much grief, he won't enjoy the concert.  ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I know my Mum takes a bean bag when she goes to WOMAD, could that be an option for you guys? Or some cushions or something? Might be a little more comfortable than the ground I imagine. The hard seats is probably more to protect the ground than anything else. I imagine if everyone had deck chairs it would probably do a fair bit of damage (that said, so can that many feet walking, but maybe they are trying to minimize it?). ------------- ~Cassie~

No worries at all! It's a little more practical for a single concert, but she doesn't mind lugging it around for the few days of womad cause it means she's comfortable and her back/knee's don't play up afterwards  Hope the lovely weather sticks around for the concert and you guys have a great time down here!------------- ~Cassie~

The Bowl is pretty slopped and so deck chairs wouldn't be a goer - but most concerts i have been to there we just sat on a picnic blanket - could you take a couple of pillows with you and I know they would be excepted. Depending on the size of the bean bag they may not let you take that in either.
Oh on another note - parking is better if you go to the race course as they always open a feild there for you park in - better than the other side for parking and getting in and out. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

As someone else said the best thing at the bowl is a blanket and pillows, just because it really is like a bowl and all slops in.
