Inspired by the kids book list thread.......

Thought it might be fun to start a book list for adult books too. I love to read, but find that books are so expensive I will only buy one if it has been recommended to me.

So here goes....

This charming Man - Marian Keyes. Just read it and LOVED it. Lots of LOL bits. Great girly read!!

I LOVE Julie Garwood's historical novels, they are all romance novels set in England or Scotland

Also The Wilderness Series by Sara Donati is wonderful, I am currently waiting for the 6th and final book to be published in January

I have bought quite a few books off TM as it is so much cheaper. I like to buy books as I often re-read them

I read an awesome book the other week, I was hooked, and now have to go back and read the pre-quel to it. lol.

They are by an Aussie writer called Melanie La'Brooy. Very witty and funny and kinda crazy (like, so maybe that's why I relate to them)

So the first in the series is:

Lovestruck

and the one i read was called :

The babymoon.

Can't say anything about Lovestruck, as I haven't read it but The babymoon is crackers, I couldn't put it down.

To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
An absolute classic and must-read.

And strangely, the other book that I love to read over and over is Diary of a Fat Man by Paul Jeffreys. An account of how Paul lost over 60kgs in a year. Even though he got to take a year off work to do his diet and exercise program, it's still quite inspirational.

Quite like Marian Keys but can only read her books every so often because they're so similar, I keep getting confused.

Oooh, and forgot to add The Bronze Horseman / Bridge to Holy Cross / A Summer Garden by Paullina Simons. LOVE THEM!

My favourite is 'The Diviners' by Margaret Laurence.
I also like most of Margaret Atwood's stuff and I love To Kill a Mockingbird.

Not really into chick lit but I did like The Lovely Bones - except the weird ending and also My Sister's Keeper.
