I saw this on another forum and thought it was a good idea for compiling a "Best Of" catalogue for 2009. There should probably be categories but a couple of entertaining ones I can think of off the top of my head are:

The Sue Bradford thread
The DPB thread

Anyone else got some favourites?

Hmm what are the chances
the vent thread
were two fun ones .

the linked one , I can't say much about , as I know her and know the situation with those children better than most on here , which gives me a better understanding of how she was feeling at the time .

can't remember if it was this year, but one of the most incredible threads was the one with a woman preganant with twins, who had them, and they died.

And then it turned out SHE WAS NEVER PREGNANT. People were going to send her gifts, money etc to help out.

And then in the same htread i think we found out another woman who had triplets - one with a brain tumour, never existed either. those were certainly the most "eye opening" for me.

The one that supposably had twins would have been from our wonderful March 08 thread. That goes a while back now - begining of last year. That was just a little creepy.

Never heard of the triplets though

Hehe, I remember the 'natural insemination' bit

I think those non-pregnant ladies were before this year.. very odd, though. Kinda sad.

But the triplet one?  Don't recall that at all.

I remember seeing a post referring to this and I am very curious! How did you find out it wasn't true? I can't believe someone would lie about that!

By the time she got to 42 weeks pregnant with twins and still no babies...... then to suddenly announce she had had them and they were born sleeping...... by then we probably should have figured something just wasn't right, and the a few days later some sort of 'sister in law' just happened to find the thread and explained how there were never any babies and she had everyone fooled. That was the end of that. Left a very stunned bunch of mums.

OMG I remember that one - she even posted a pic of her preggy belly.

And wasn't the worst bit of the SIL's story that this woman had told her whole family this story and her poor DP had just found out that she never was pregnant at all so he was grieving twice - for the deaths and for the actual twins he never had.

Yes, but it was the same photo for 20 weeks, 30 weeks, 40 weeks.....
I dont know I still wonder how much the SIL said was really ture, or even if the SIL was real - I guess once the trust was broken I didn't know what to believe.

The one that pretended she was pregnant with twins was in our Due in April 2008 thread. I've just gone back to our old thread and noticed none of us really took much notice of her! We had Tashzmum in our thread who WAS pregnant with twin girls, it was sad to see someone lie and have us all fooled! I can't seem to find the thread where the SIL jumped in though.

I think she posted between the two of them Daizy. I can't quite work it out. But one post in our Forum on the 1st April said she was 39 weeks? She may have been part of your thread more than ours, dunno!

She posted in the teen pregnancy forum.

I'm loving this thread actually!! Nothing like a bit of 'oh remember when?'. I missed the 'natural insemination' thread.

I loved the embarrassing labour moments thread. I laughed so hard at that one. I never got round to posting although mine wasn't embarrassing. I got carpet burn from kneeling on the stairs and had a bit of a whinge about it afterwards, DH just looked at me and said that's what hurts?????? Midwife was stunned. That and I asked DH only seconds after Harper was born if he had remembered to give the cat some breakfast.

I completely missed the lying little troll as we were on holiday making our 'real' baby at the time so of course I've been nosey and gone back to have a look. Here's the thread where she was outed. http://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=15609&KW=06baby&PN=0&TPN=4 - the liar

Sorry guys, I'm more of a lurker than a poster but thanks for the laughs.

I remember that! I think there was an article or something about her and her twins too. I assume that got deleted after it was found out to not be true.
We have had some dramas around here!

I enjoyed reading the embarrassing labour stories thread. I also liked the daily chat thread (can't remember if that was this year though)
