I'm completely stuck and hoping there are some math whizzes around here...I cannot get my head around the formula to find out the sample variance/sample standard variation and the population cariance/population standard variation.
Can anyone please please help me?? I am trying to do an assignment, but I need to figure this out to get the other answers, and maths is a new but foreign language to me!!! |

| Do you mean standard deviation? Do you need to show the workings in your assignment? If not, you can enter your data into Excel and the formula for standard deviations is in there. |

Nope I don't need to show the workings in my assignment, I just need to find the deviation in order to work out other formulas like the p value. I am struggling big-time with stats and finding hypotheses and following the formulas!!
Oh....found the standard deviation - thank you!!! Now to try and work out the pvalue, test statistic value, decision rule and null and alternative hypothoses

| Aaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhhh...those are all things I permanently deleted from my memory!! God I hated statistics. I didnt find it hard...just mind numbingly boring. It was an exam I walked out on before finishing because I just couldnt take it anymore. (I did add up all I had done and new I had enough to pass) |

I find it soooooo difficult getting my head around it all. Give me a document to interpret anyday, or even accounts, and I'm fine!!
In saying that, it's been well over 10 years since I last did algebra, or any other form of maths other than basic addition/substraction etc. |
