Just wondering what peoples' experiences of morning sickness are like in third trimester. I'm aware it comes back for some people...I've had hyperemesis, so I'm guessing it will get worse for me again (actually, maybe I should say *might* get worse for me, so as not to jinx myself!)

Has it been as bad as first trimester? When did it start again (or get worse again for those, like me, who haven't actually stopped in 2nd trim)?

...hmmm...I'm loving being down to 1 spew a day at the moment... (the weird joys of pregnancy!?)

Thanks folks!

You already know I got hyperemesis with my last pregnancy. That lasted right through til about 20 weeks, then I got a respite, then I got what I would call "normal" morning sickness back from 32 weeks - nothing as bad as it was in my first trimester. I couldn't function at all for a couple of weeks in the first trimester, wasn't keeping anything down, lost 8kg, could only lie on the couch basically, but when it came back from 32 weeks I could still go to work etc (although I cut down my hours cos I was tired, but I think that was a separate issue and mostly to do with being the size of a small car!).

Fingers crossed if it does come back for you later, it'll be on the manageable end of the scale like it was for me

Make that 2 spews for today.....yuk...

Good to hear that it wasn't as nearly bad as trim 1 for you weegee...I can relate to the not able to function bit! I'm just back at work now, at 16 weeks, after a long time of not functioning. It's nice to be in the realm of "normal" ms at the mo (makes me appreciate how sick I was before now)...and think I could cope with this....

I didn't get hypermesis but I did get yucky ms for the first 16-18 weeks. During the last trimester I felt sick again but didn't vomit so long as I only had very frequent small meals.
FXed for 0 spews a day soon!

Yup way small meals!!!! The ms in the last trimester (i think) is more refluxy... tummy being compressed by the evergrowing person inside you. Jake liked to using my bladder to pracise is heading skills and my stomach his foot skills.. a true soccor player in the making.

I would get the ms waves if I wasnt eating enough and vomit if I ate too much... couldnt win really!

Hope you can stick to one or two spews a day (or none!)!!!!!

My MS has come back in the last week or so. It's not as bad as it was the first 16 or 17 weeks, but it's still annoying. I think it has a lot to do with the heat & humidity. I am NOT impressed about it's return!

It's strange because with DS I had MS for 12 weeks only & then felt great the rest of the pregnancy.

I have had MS through out most of my pregnancy (had a 1 month when it went away and I wasn't on med's). Although it hasn't been as bad now as it was at the start (now it's true morning sickness and not all day sickness like it was for first 16 weeks).

I totally jinxed myself last night...and ended up being sick lots and lots of times!!! Yuk man...here's me harping on about once per day! oh well...today's better so far...although, that may be the ondansetron & cyclizine!

I am, though, finally at the stage where eating a little bit helps ward off the nausea...I think it's having my appetite back.

Tastic - sorry to hear you've been so sick again. I've been a complan girl in the last while too!

Thanks for all your answers so far guys - it's helpful to see the range of experiences!

I got MS back in the 3rd trimester as well. I think for memory it was around 30 weeks and similar to Mel, I think it was more reflux related

Eating small smounts regularly helped as did ginger tablets (not the MS ones just plain ginger)

I was a litttle green in my first trimester and it only went to heaving once and to almost heaving a couple of times so not too bad. But I am just about 35 weeks now and I have been feeling greenish on and off for a week or so now. I have to say though eating something seems to help. Drinking something not so much but having a bit seems to settle it where in the first tri it didn't.
