im trying to find baby names suggestions for someone. She wants a somewhat unique name or possibly a moari name... for a boy too

There's a lady in the pregnancy thread who suggested Nikau for a boy I think its an awesome name.

Do they like transliterations? Mikaere - Michael etc. If so, there's a Maori dictionary online that you can get the transliterations for a lot of traditional names.
I'm no help on unusual/unique names though - not my cup of tea at all. |

Having absolutely no knowledge of Maori names at all this one automatically makes me think this http://www.niwa.co.nz - NIWA which then automatically makes me think of NUMA which is from Clive Cusslers books. 
If you want unusual Irish names let me know

I have a friend with a son Nikau too...very popular at moment!!
I had a weird dream a while back that I had twin boys conceived at the beach and called one Mata and one rangi LOL! I love the name Wikitoria for a girl...sorry OTT

Our little boys middle name is Tautoru which is supposed to be the name for the first born of a good hunter....but DH doesn't hunt...ah well. -------------
