Hi guys,

I haven't been on here much lately and have had people asking if all is ok, YEP we are fine but I just thought I would update on what we've been up to.
WARNING BORING!!! heheheh

I am now allowed to eat DAIRY again wohoooooo, feel like I have put on a ton!! I am still bf Joey but he isn't reacting to the dairy in my system anymore and is also allowed to eat products containing milk protein again - biscuits, bread, sausages etc. biut no straight dairy products yet - will trial that when he turns one (which is soon, scary!!)

My brother has been here for a few weeks. He met Joey for the first time last month as he has been living overseas for the past year, he left again today and we won't be seeing him again until xmas at the earliest so that is a bit sad.

Went to Nelson a few weeks ago for 5 days at my mums which was fab.

Managed to get 2 jobs and a fantastic nanny only to lose all 3 in a week, sigh, long story, LOL, won't go into details

TTC - deciding whether or not to start

Joey has 8 teeth, is starting to try standing by himself without holding on to stuff but is pretty happy just zooming around on his hands and knees or holding onto furniture and "walking" along

That's all really but should be on here more now that brother has left

Hey why not? Joey is a cutie and sound like an easy child.... so why not have another???

I would love to have one now but honestly I cant see that happening....I am working full time, Zaara is not a handfull but loves her attention (in other words spoilt like hell)....so another baby is just not in the books.

So what are you hoping for next Ana?? Another handsome boy or perhaps a beautiful little girl?

So Are you teaching Joey German? Cause that is what you guys speak right? I am so afraid that Zaara is not going speak because she is confused!!

My husband speaks to her in Hindi and English,
I speak to her In Hindi, Bengali and English,
My Aunt who looks after her speaks to her in Russian,
My Mum and Dad spea to her in Bengali, Russian and English
My MIL and BIL speak to her in Hindi and English....

do you think she will be confused???

i studied language acquistion and one thing we did a lot of was debate about children learning more than one langugae. Despite people swearing that it makes the child find speaking difficult, it does not. children who are exposed to more than one langugae at a time MAY speak thei first langugage a little later than average, but will speak perfectly fine, and depending on exposure, will also pick up other languages really quiclly too. being bi-multi lingual does not impede chid development at all. Zaara will not be confused at all. She may be, like me, lazy and mix her langugages, but generally she'll be fine.

Oh Gosh Liz...I sure hope so....I think about this allot. Tho I learned all these languages with out a problem, mum said I sope a bit late....and I was only exposed to two languages (Russian and Bengali)....my poor girl is exposed to 4.....

Seiously Roksana, she'll find knowing four languages a huge benefit at school. Kids that know more than one langugage tend to be able to pick up more with ease. She'll be the envy of her peers. And really, development is not hindered at all. I can't re-iterate that enough. I would've loved Jake to have been a lot longer in Japan and picked up more of the langugage, but alas, 'twas not to be.

Thanks Liz....I know it will be ok but you know at the back of your mind you think...is she ok with all these languages around her?

So I guess you guys wont be going back to Japan huh?
I would have loved to learn Japanese......just to confuse my child a bit more...LOL.

Thanks Liz for putting me in ease and sorry Ana for jacking your thread!!

Hey roksana this lady i know is playing tapes of all these different laguages to her baby while it sleeps so it can speak them all. I think Zaara is lucky to learn all those lauguages so young I attempted to learn french at 13 and what a joke that was.
