Hi Ladies,
My name is Shelley Mason, I am Mum to Oliver (2) and Kimberley (9 months) and I am currently studying towards a Diploma in Childbirth Education.
As part of my training I am wanting to support women in the Hamilton and Cambridge area through their pregnancy, birth and postnatal experiences.
This support service is free.
If you are pregnant and think you may be interested and would like to have a chat (no obligations), I would love to talk to you. You can either email me at shelleyandsimon@clear.net.nz or send me a private message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks!
------------- Shelley :)

Good on you Shelley! What an awesome idea.
Does it matter if you are a first/second (third!) time mum? While I don't feel the need for support as such I'd be happy to help out, answer questions, give my views on things? And it would be a good excuse for a catch up

Shells, do you mean emotional support or what kind of support? I would be keen to help you out- this will be baby #1 for me.

I think she means birth support LA.. so present at the birth assisting as DH would and then as well as your mw post natal. Helping you with labour positions, techniques, massage, cold or hot presses, helping you focus and breathe etc.
Its great Shell, I know I felt more confident in my CBE knowing she had been a birth support (she is will be supporting me with this birth).

you can have whoever you like as a birth support hun.. its not up to your midwife!!!!!
she would not be working in a medical capacity but assisting YOU in your labour. So if you want her to sit there and rub your back all night she will LOL
She is not their for delivery but for labour.. does that make more sense???

I'm able to help out before the pregnancy to go through details of birth plans or answer questions you may have and just be there to talk if you need to!
If you want any further information please feel free to pm me, feel free to leave contact details and I can get in touch for a chat!
