Use half hot water half vodka. Dissolve the jelly in the hot water and then add the jelly.
Mmmm, this is the only way I will eat Jelly

Depends on how strong you like it but I use to do 2/3 hot water then add the jelly to dissolve and then wait for it to cool before mixing in the 1/3 vodka.

Thanks for your replies ladies.

Can I ask how strong the 1/2 water, 1/2 vodka consistency is please, eg can you taste the vodka or is it pleasant like an average serving of vodka with soda?

As stupid as it sounds I hate actually tasting really strong vodka in jellies!!! I prefer them to be a little more sublte, but also want the "kick" that they give IYKWIM

Sorry being a bit fussy aren't I

Also depends how strong the vodka is - eg the Sminoff Red or the Sminoff Blue (export strength).  I wanted to get rid of my Sninoff Blue once (got sick of it, and was having a housewarming) so just poured in the vodka and made up the rest of the liquid component with water.

Maybe try a teaspoon full of the jelly mixture for taste before putting in the fridge to set.
