Good on you!

I did my degree by correspondence while working full time (but I didn't have a child). As long as you commit, do as much in advance as you can to make up for those times that you can't get around to your study you'll be fine. Good luck.

Wow awesome what are you studying?

I work 25 hours a week and I am doing 2 papers this year with the open poly as well. I am a bit nervous as to how I will fit everything in as well but luckily I have plenty of support.

Goodluck!! I studied last year and worked 2 jobs, had to get up at 7am to catch the bus and often didn't get home until about 9.30! Worked about 15 hours a week in one job and 4 hours a week at the other and studied about 20 hours a week (classes)!

I didn't have a child so that made it easier, you have to be quite focused and willing to commit, like summerlamb said do as much in advance as you can, especially reading!! Planning you're time will definitely help, e.g if you have an assignment - make a plan on how you'll complete it, like break it up into parts...

I'm planning to go back to study in about 2 years time, hopefully will have a job by then too even if it's just part time!! Baby will be 2 by then as well.

I have a dedicated 2 hour study time on Tuesdays. Mondays is my day with Kylah, a class from5.30-7.30 Monday also, a class 10-12 Tuesday and the 2 hour study break, then work from 2.30-7.15. Wednesday I work from 8-5 and class from 5.30-7.30. Thursdays I have the morning with Kylah and work from 1-7. Fridays i work 8-4.30. So study time is going to be night time and Kylahs 2 hour nap in the days on the weekend. I also am going to lump my 3 breaks into a 1 hour break the days i work so i can study..

Gosh its going to be hard but worth it.

Im doing pre health, options that will get me into Nursing, Midwifery or Diploma in Science as i would like to do forensics..

I'm doing a couple of Health Science papers that can be cross credited to Nursing should I decide to go down that avenue. Very nervous, having not studied for over 20 years

I'm not doing health science, but I am studying. Have just done 2 papers over summer school, and am doing 3 papers this semester (possibly 4 because I think I failed statistics...) and 3 next semester, and am working between 11 and 20 hours a week. Last year I also did 8 papers total (4 each semester) while working full-time (until July) and then while I was in hospital with the girls and coming home - I got an A+, 2 As, a B+, 2 Bs and 2 Cs, so it's definitely possible!!!! You need to be organised - if you're studying at night, make sure you set the time aside and do it! I find sometimes I get to the end of the day and all I want to do is sit and relax, not engage my brain in more thinking, and so my study misses out.   Oh, and all of mine have been online based extramural study...

I have calendars everywhere showing dates that assignments are due, and ones for appointments, and everything is planned down to a T!! It is hard, but so worthwhile.

I'm studying Law, and working 20 hours per week. I'm lucky in that I will have good support around from my family to help with Josh. I'm only doing one paper this semester, plus tutorial study group.
