I have been given a Phil & Teds Sports buggy. I was looking at purchasing a peanut (assesory) for it however am not sure whether its worth while. I would appreciate feedback on whether people think they are worth it, as they are $179 plus $50 for the sun/rain covers. If you have had a peanut, how long did you use it for? Or do you think the P&T Sports buggy is ok to put a newborn into.

I have a Vibe with the Peanut and have found it fantastic. It was a must for me to have baby facing me while he's so young, also great when we're at other peoples houses as he can sleep in it, in fact up until a couple of days ago he was doing all his sleeps in it as we only had a hammock which he hated.

For me, it was a fantastic buy and I certainly don't regret it

We got one free when we brought our buggy so am also interested to hear feedback - the Peanut is a little bit cheaper on www.kiwibaby.com ($165) and I see they also have a store in Howick.

We have used the peanut with both babies.. DD slept in it for ages cause was prem but DS only lasted 2 months in it as normal size (8lb 9oz born)..

Was great to use when away from home or out and about when babies are young. I say go for it, it's always something you can sell later on.

Oh and sorry Kathryn, just re read your post.. They aren't cheap, so if were you, would just buy a good quality inlay to craddle the baby (at one end, its shaped like a half circle if that makes sense) or a nice sheepskin rug. You could make it super cosy in there.

No need to splash out on the sun covers, for ages I just used a fine cotton muslin cloth and pinned it on with pegs.. And ask yourself - how often will I go for a walk in the rain..?? If it's pouring with rain, me and the kids don't go out, if it's drizzling or I have to go, I just do my best to get a covered carpark.. A brolly or a muslin cloth will be fine if raining and quickly dashing from shop to shop.

Hope that helps.. Lastly, if want a rain cover, get a double one if you're thinking of having more than one.

Hi, thanks everyone, good feedback DonnaB, def of use. Didnt think about using a muslin cloth, and also Im due in April so winter approaching so doubt will use son cover much anyway. I do plan to do a lot of walking (well hopefully). I didnt have to buy the pram so paying for the peanut is nothing in comparison I suppose. Just didnt want to get one if it wasnt going to be used all that much. Cheers!

We decided to get the sun/rain cover and have used it lots already for those times we've been caught out in a sun shower, being NZ you can never rely on the weather too much, IMO its easy and not very expensive really. Best part is you can have the sun and rain cover on at the same time, will be great in rugby season when its cold and windy too
