just wondering if its normal for the let-down to be painful? I absolutely cringe and sometime I'm almost in tears the let-down hurts so much.
the first few sucks are fine and after about 12 sucks after the let-down it becomes less painful but yeah is this normal?
I dont remember this with the boys. ohh and its only really started in the last couple of days!

Completely normal I'm sure you will find it eases up as your supply settles down. DD is nearly 11mths (excl. BF) and I haven't felt a let-down for well over 5mths. But I still remember those god awful pains in the early days!

I had that too in the early weeks and it was SO painful!    It has eased up a bit now. I still have a letdown, and it still hurts a wee bit for a few seconds but not compared to what it was at the start.    Jamie is 10 weeks now and it eased up around the 6 week mark.

I hope it goes away soon for you.

I couldn't believe how much more painful it was with #2. Deep breaths & it does let up.

Yep I had it too for a few weeks, then it gradually got better. I can still feel it now but it doesn't hurt. I had it with Jake too. I don't think the description of "slight tingling" that was given in AN classes was correct!!!!

Congrats!!! Totally normal and apparently it is often more painful with subsequent bubs. At least you have no doubts about getting a let down   To me it felt like someone had grabbed my nipple/breast and was twisting and squeezing it.....not unlike how I would imagine a BH would feel it they happened in your boob...how's that for a random thought.

And even more fun when you'd have them in the supermarket & all you wanted to do is press on your boobs to make the pain go away LOL

Lol I do press to make the pain go away even in public, not that Ive been going out a neck of a lot yet. Its really sore, and can happen several times during a feed, and at random times of the day too.
I know it happened a bit with Isla but never like this, but then she fed tiny bits often, and Aiden feeds more reguraly around 3 hrly- not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.

I found the first few weeks the worst though, the painful let down and the painful cramps I got

I had painful letdown for probably the first 8 weeks I likened it to barbed wire being dragged through the milk ducts I still have a really strong let down but it's just uncomfortable for a few seconds then gone although I still have to have a breastpad in the side I'm not feeding from other wise there is leakage..
