DS is coming up 1 (scary!) My Poppa who i adore so much will be 75 on the same day, so i am having a combined party for them, as it will always be THEIR birthday, but in the past year an uncle of mine and his wife and kids has never made the effort to see him or nothing, we had my Great Grandmothers funeral and i saw him say oh look at "it" i was not happy by that, he knows his name. My cousin from down the line that i havent seen in years even sent a card to send his best wishes when he was born etc. But this uncle lives in Auckland and has made no effort.

Do i just get over it and invite him to the birthday for Poppa or because its at my house and im putting the party on i dont have to invite him? I dont want to invite him but feel im being a bit b*tchy...

Hmm if it was me, I'd probably be the "better person" lol and invite him for your Poppa. And hopefully he'll see what he's been missing out on with your DS and maybe come to a realisation. It's totally understandable you're feeling the way you are though, I'd be pretty hurt if I was in that situation.

I'm assuming this Uncle is your Poppa's Son?
In that case I think you do need to invite him, thing with realtives is your stuck with them for life surely its not too hard to be civilised for 1 day for your Poppa's sake?

Invite him - for the sake of family. Sometimes we just have to suck it up, and be mature adults for the sake of "the greater good".

I would invite him for your Poppa sake.

Make a big deal about thanking him for your son's present, lol
