Jake is now nearly two and eats SOOOO much for breakfast. I'm not sure if it's okay or not. He eats two weetbix and milk, then a couple of bits of toast. If I have some rice bubbles he'll have half a bowl of that too, and perhaps a yoghurt. It seems like a huge amount for such a little boy. He's not fat, and he does run around like crazy and expend a lot of energy, but when he sits eating,I see that5 woman from the "fat Chance" sitting there saying "you're killing your son"

For me that sounds alot But if he is an active child then it must be ok, as long as he isnt just sitting around it will be fine

Quinn is just a weeny bit older than Jake and he is the same. For brekkie it is two weetbix, banana and two pieces of toast.   And then he'll eat anything else he can get his hands on, yoghurt, muesli bar... I could continue forever...

Hannah eats crap all for breakfast, I wish she'd eat more!!!

Sounds fine to me Liz. Isn't breakfast meant to be the largest meal of the day anyway? I'll be he just burns all the energy off!

Andrew eats LOADS for breakfast and is younger than Jake. He has two weetbix with a tub of yoghurt and then a full cup of warmed milk or watered down fruit (usually prune) juice depending on the state of his daily poo-splosions (he's always had constipation issues). He'll have a piece of fruit, toast or a couple of crackers for morning tea with a cup of water and at lunch time will eat a sandwich, slice of cheese, piece of fruit, krispee bikkie and have another drink. For dinner time he'll polish off a full bowl of meat and veges - something like savoury mince or soup etc and that's him fed for the day.
He's incredibly active when he's awake and sleeps through the night, so I figure that he's burning it all off. He's in the perfect weight range according to the trusty plunket book.
I'd have 'You're Killing Your Kids/Fat Chance' moments if he was tucking down on pizza, nuggets, chips, chocolate and other crap all day.

excellent! I get paranoid sometimes...I watched the other day when she told that lady off for giving her kids cornflakes. Now granted I didn't see everything, but seriously cornflakes? aren't they okay?>

Geez, I would have thought so?!? I mean, excess sugar on cornflakes, I could see the problem... but just cornflakes?

I watched that! She had a problem with it cos the girl was shovelling on heaps of sugar and then using blue top milk, which was not helping her cholersterol levels and she said she should have a high fibre cereal due to her high family risk of bowel cancer.

I was quite happy to chow down on the Weetbix and stewed prunes I got in hospital for breakfast, just to make sure things stayed 'comfortable' ! Am considering requesting some prunes from the supermarket tomorrow actually, not that we have any issues yet, BUT I'm taking those nasty iron tablets again and want to avoid any problems.
