I know I'm going to get them, I've already got some. But I figure putting moisturiser etc on won't hurt... I try to do it twice a day, and even if it doesn't make a difference to stretch marks, MAN I have soft skin

So where did you get yours? At the moment I'm concentrating on the lower part of my belly, under belly button and across, and also hips/muffin roll sort of area...

Not sure if I should bother going right up my belly, my hips/thighs etc?

I got none on my belly at all - the few I got are running from the front of my hip bones around my bum, and running horizontally across my thighs down to about short skirt height IYKWIM.

Didn't get any sorry. (I used bio oil and cocoa butter with Jake and barely remembered to do anything with Morgan but cocoa butter and moisturiser some days, so I'm not sure if it actually helped, but worth a try!)

Hhmm maybe I should start going around my hip bones and backs of thighs and that a bit more carefully!

I use a bit of bio oil (which I HATE using) and cocoa palmers stuff, and normal moisturiser. I just kind of put it into my daily routine of face wash/tone/moisturise and when I do deodorant/moisturise legs before I get dressed and that so it doesn't much more time.

Figure it's definately not gonna hurt trying!

Do from your neck down, lol! I used bio oil on my belly everyday with Isla, got no stretch marks there, but did get them on my hips and boobs. Used nothing this time, and thought I had got away with none- but got a nice collection below belly button that appeared just 3 days before Aiden was born.

I already do neck, arms, and legs, so maybe I'll just start joining it all up and do as much as I can reach!

I'll tell ya what, it only takes 5min every morning and night, which I add to facewash and all that which I done anyways, and I have such lush skin right now!!!

I can see when I skip a day though, my skin is just lapping up the moisturiser! Its loving it!

Good point- my poor skin could definatly use a bit of tlc!

I used the palmers stuff most days and got none on my tummy/hips etc at all. The MW was quite impressed, because I certainly got a decent bump!

Sadly, the one night DD had a decent sleep (about 3 weeks old), I woke up with them ALL over my boobs and seem to get more there every day

Is there something you can put on your boobs that is ok if baby licks a bit off when feeding?

I just had them on my boobs during pregnancy.

After giving birth and my milk came in, the ones on my boobs got worse and some on my hips suddenly appeared too. I have a few small ones on my butt and thighs now too

T-Rex, my MW was also suprised/impressed that I didn't get any during pregnancy

Tummy, hips, thighs and boobs.

Put Olive Oil on your skin. It's better than moisturiser and no risk of nasty chemicals crossing the placenta

from what I understand, if you are going to get stretch marks, you will get them. bio-oil just reduces the damage done.
but as you say, if anything it makes your skin feel great!

I might try olive oil... Anythings worth a try...

kathamill, I know I'm going to get them, I got them when my boobs grew, and already got some on my hips... But its worth a try, not gonna hurt doing it anyways!

I hadn't been putting anything on my boobs, cos they already covered in old ones, from when I got these E cups at 14 (i'm sure it was over night..) that have gone all skin colour.. Might be worth putting more on incase i get more!

HB I started to get them on my hips and boobs early on (maybe 16 weeks?) and now have heaps on boobs, hips, thighs (just the top bit, like an extension of my hip ones). None on my tum yet, but I am sure they will come.
I put bio oil on in the PM and palmers cocoa butter in the am, every day from my BFP. And my mum didnt get any Ive pretty much accepted Im going to be covered by the time bubs comes out!

The Olive Oil held mine off for awhile and I do believe that it reduced the damage. I only have a few deep, dark ones, the rest are pretty minor and already fading (Mac is only 11 weeks old)

I hardly got any at all with my first pregnancy and I used nothing at all. I used bio oil right though with my second and got away with hardly any right up until the last week when Erynn 'right baby' decided to roll over and caused HAVOC right over my belly. *Shakes head* twins huh?

I got one small one under my bellybutton, nowhere else. I did bio-oil every day plus cocoa butter. So far the boobs have survived BF with no stretch marks so hoping that will last! My mum had none either so reckon genes has lots to do with it.

I got hideous marks all over my belly, gaaaargh, I used bio oil and shea butter but nope, they are on my hips also, they have faded alot but still feel gross.

I used bio-oil and cocoa butter religiously, but got them everywhere... boobs, tummy, bum, thighs, arms, hips... so neck down, like someone else said

I think the bio-oil and cocoa butter helped with the comfort factor (less itchy/sore when skin was stretching) but didn't help me not to get any. I guess some people will just get them regardless, and some people won't.

Man it seems to be common to get them after baby is born

I already have a small collection on my hip *sigh* so will probably get more, but oh well.

I've heard moisturising and that helps with the itchiness of them, so hopefully it'll be a bonus in that way at least!

My butt (esp near the crack) lol sorry!
My boobs all around the nipples, under my bump, my hips and the top of my calves for some odd reason!

I didn't get many whilst pregnant, they came all after! I think the calf ones are because I live in a 2 storey house and they whole 9 months plus now I had to run up and down the stairs due to the layout.

LOL my mw told me the stretchmarks were there when i was pg but skin was stretched so tight I couldnt see them but she could.. LOL

I didnt get many.. a few on my hips, a few under my bump and a few at the top of my bump..

The ones under my bump went lower than I thought they would... iygwim.. that was a bit of a shock.

I was terrible at remembering to moisturise but i already had stretchmarks so dont think it would have made a difference.

I was also told to not scratch my tummy, its so hard when it gets so itchy.. not sure if that helped keep them to a minimum....

I did use bio oil when I remembered in the last 3 or so weeks but that was cause my skin was really dry and I used it everywhere I could reach

I hate to be that person, but I didn't get any which was surprising because I got so many stretch marks when I went through puberty. I diligently drank at least 3 - 4 liters of water a day when I was pregnant with my son, and I'm 100% sure that helped.
Trust me, I was expecting them but they never came....

I got one tine one when I had Ella, that was just where my belly piercing scar opened up. I thought I was one of the lucky ones who doesn't get them but then I had Benjy and my stomach just exploded with them. Also got a few on my hips/bum.

Same! But then nothing about my pg I expected to happen actually happened lol. I don't think there's much you can do about them anyway is there?  Not meaning this the wrong way but do people really mind if you get them? I mean your hubby sees them I guess but does it make you feel yuck or less sexy or something? Aren't they something that should be viewed with pride- as a by-product of the awesome little life you created?

I hate mine and I would have some serious body issues if I had more, so yup, people do care hun.. it permanent scaring after all.... they never go away!

Some people may not care and thats fantastic but not all of us are comfortable in our skins....

By the same standard you could say that about a c-section scar.. and believe me I dont love that either and its by medical standards a beautiful scar.

Doesnt mean I am not proud of my child or to be a mummy, I just dont wear them as a badge of honour even if I should.

Think I would feel the same Melnel, I will be gutted if I get them this time, Im hoping my only baby badge is my c scar

I have found bio oil excellent for scarring and am sure it would help reduce the appearence - I have used this on my daughter surgery site and its excellent

Mel- I hadn't thought of it that way . I also used to have serious body issues, dunno what happened to them though lol.  Think I just realised there was a lot more to me than the skin I wear. However, I should stop assuming people have the same feminist thinking ways I have lol. Hope I didn't offend

Of course you didnt offend hun, please you know me well enough by now LOL

I just thought I would give you another perspective so you could see how some women feel....

My stretchies from Jake are already itching... I dont think I am going to get off so lightly this time and I have not even put on really any weight (about 500gm)...

Oh well, FX!
