Does anyone know much about vitamins and expiry dates? I have two boxes of Elevit from back in 2008 which I was going to take when UTD but then stopped TTCing soon after. I found them in the cupboard over the weekend and they expired last month. Do you think it really matters? Do vitamins go off? Seems like an awful waste of money to throw them out.

I'd probably ring a chemist or health shop Sal... they'd be in the know with that kinda thing and could tell you for sure

I reckon if I asked a chemist they would tell me to throw them away because they would want to make a sale
They haven't changed colour and they are in those sealed things like panadol tablets. What are they called again?

Blister pack?

I've heard conflicting advice.
Expired meds lose potency and/or can cause adverse reactions.
other things say they're fine, just might not be as effective.

My motto is, if in douubt, throw it out.
Monumental waste of money, sure, but better to be safe than sorry

Blister pack! That's what I was trying to think of. Thanks for the advice, I might take them for a month or so seeing they are just past expiry and then chuck them out. I got them pretty cheaply off Ferrit back in the day. I miss Ferrit.

Lol... i wouldn't be able to chuck them out either...seeing they havent discoloured and are well sealed.    I heard that companies normally make the expiry date a considerable time earlier to be safe.
