no-one has started a august mums thread, so i thought seen we are NEXT (woohoo!) i'd start it, as the next month or so im sure we are all goin to be jumping at every niggle or wondering if we are feeling "normal"... and its nice to hear that others are feling the same and going through the same symptoms!
-so anyway!... yesterday i had my first checkup in 3 weeks, didnt go great. it showed my blood pressure had gone up from 135/75 to 150/100 doh! thats quite a big jump! so now i have to go in for bloods and maybe get monitored, but havent heard back from my midwife so dont really know whats going to happen, i saw her backup yesterday. but im freaking out, because my first pregnancy i had really high blood pressure like that and ended up with an epidural to lower it (and hated every minute of the epi, lets just say im NOT the biggest fan of them! then i had a heamorrhage.... one of the yuckiest things i have had to go through, and im sooooo scared it will happen again, although im trying to remain positive and keep in mind that they know that these things may happen to me, so will have the drugs to prevent things, but still, dont want to have to go through it again!!! argh!
this is becoming a novel!, the other thing at the moment is the frequent bowel movements! argh! they are loose and sometimes runny, but it seems that im having a big cleanout (sorry tmi) i feel like im forever on the toilet and its sooooooo uncomfy! wah! ok, enough of my winge and sob story.
hope to hear some updates from other aug mums!

I hope everything goes alright for you mum2emj!!
Well, I'm happily enjoying my first week of maternity leave this week :) :) :)
This is my first child and it's starting to sink in now that I'm going to actually have to push this baby out in the near future! I have done the hospital tour and have my bag almost packed so I think I'm prepared (although not mentally)...
Physically I feel good aside from the really bad carpal tunnel and acid reflux, but that's a small price to pay when I know of many other women who are sick all through their pregnancies.
Other than that, my current concern is that the baby might not stay in the great position she's in right now as I feel her repositioning herself more now than ever before... At my last appointment my midwife said the head is starting to engage so that's where I hope the head will stay!!. And I don't know about you ladies but I still can't tell which body parts I'm feeling when I lie down and feel the outline!

Well, my first scan told me to expect on the 4th of September, but other scans afterwards and according to the size of his head circumference told me to expect 22nd of August. This is the day that I had an abortion last year because I was still in year 12 and only 17 years old. If this little Peanut comes out that day then I know it was just meant to be.
I'm hoping it will be that day or earlier since I have been soooo sick and aching. Thought I had a show on Monday and went into hospital Monday night with huge pains and thought that it was it but didn't turn out that way. Apparently its just my muscles weakening and bruising all over my belly but mostly down the centre and lower right. Oh well.
This little fella is lying in the right position but his heads not engaged yet- I don't think. I see the MW next wednesday so I'll ask then.
So here's hoping to him coming in August.

Hey there August mums,
Just thought I'd pop into your thread and say hi...
Rachel, you must be totally freaking out about now with your blood pressure, however just remember, if there was bad news, you would have heard from your midwife straight away. They only take forever to deliver the 'oh, you're fine' statements. If it is really stressing you out, phone her or her buddy for the results. Extra stress can push the blood pressure up. Things will work out the way they work out, and even if you do need an epi and happen to haemorrhage, not that I think you will, it will be a lot less scary than the first time around...you're prepared for a lot more this time, so Murphy's Law should kick in and make sure that all of the horrible stuff you prepared for doesn't happen. Happy thoughts coming your way from this part of town anyway.
Pepsi - congrats on the maternity leave. Shows you really have hit the home stretch now. I empathise with the reflux. I've gotten to the point where I had a craving for the lemon/lime flavoured mylanta tabs the other day. How sad is that - craving antacid! Anyway, best of luck resting up as much as you can.
Ahhhh Stevie you month-jumper!!! I forgot to ask where in the Pineapple state you are - I spent a whack of time in Rockhampton as a young'un and still have a soft spot for the banana benders. Best of luck in keeping yourself as comfy as possible.
Well, I should skip back to my own month...best of luck ladies

Hi August Mummies!
I'm glad you started this thread Rachel, I was thinking this morning that we should have one.
I hope your B/P settles down and you avoid the possible complications it can bring. I hope you can take it easy in the meantime too, although I guess that's easier said than done with 2 littlies already!
It sounds like we're all pretty ready for the big day to arrive. I'm in no way wishing for an early baby but I often wish I could make the time go faster.
I'm feeling really well mostly, although I get tired easily now and am experiencing the joys of constipation thanks to iron tablets . Nothing to complain about really though, I'm lucky.
How are you guys finding eating now? My appetite has come back in force since baby dropped and there is more room in there! I feel like I'm always either eating or planning what to eat next, lol.
Thats enough from me for now, belly rubs everyone!

Oh yeah I know what you mean Bekkie, I haven't met anyone else who had it during pregnancy either and all the other mothers I have spoken to think it's something non pregnancy related because they never got it!! I know it's not because it has been in heaps of the books and websites I have read.
Mine started near the beginning of the third trimester and has gotten progressively worse since then including my wrists but not in the legs area you poor thing!! Some people can't understand when I tell them I can't squeeze a tube of toothpaste in the morning because my hands are so weak and sore haha...I have a trick now where I just press the tube with one palm on the bathroom counter area to get the stuff out
Also, the accompanying trigger finger is painful too...where you make a fist, and then you try and open the hand but some of the fingers stay there until they click back into place!!!
I only know a little more about CT because my mum has non-pregnancy related CT and has had surgery for it. She never got it during preganancy though so not sure if it's a genetic thing??

YA about time! good thinking its a bit scarey to think we are next. I am totally over being Pregnant every morning I wake up and tell baby today is a good day to enter the world. I am due to see my midwife today can't wait. I am really looking forward to trying the home birth thing, but very scared at the sametime the whole no drug things is a little worrying, but hey everyone has faith I can do it, so so do I.
My little man is out for the morning its nice to have time to get thing's done.
Hope everything turn's out ok for you with your blood pressure.

Pepsi - I totally agree, all those lucky pregnant woman that dont get it!! At least it will go after pregnancy!! I never knew how pregnancy really was, but experiencing it now, well its not as cool as it looked when I was younger lol
I know what you mean about making the fist. I cant do that in the mornings at all either!! Really hurts, hurts at night too! I google searched it and found the babycenter site. It explained alot for me and described exactly how I feel!! I guess its persuverance(SP) lol I cant spell
Rachel - How are you doing?? I had my MW come and do my BP for me today and mine was 130/80 and she said that was a "tad" high for me! but thats nothing compared to yours!! I hope you dont have to have done to you like what happend last time!! Does'nt sound nice!!
I dont know why I bother going to bed at the moment! The last 2 nights I have'nt been sleeping at all!! I think its my big belly making me so uncomfortable and my mind being so wide awake!!
Does anyone know if its possible to sleep back on your tummy the first night after baby is born??

Yup Bekkie, it is. Hooray!! I am a tummy sleeper and really miss it.
After my daughter was born I was so glad to be able to sleep however I wanted again
It is a little weird at first, as your tummy takes a little while to 'deflate'.
I feel so bad for you Mums with carpal tunnel, it sounds so painful.
Mummy22, wow a homebirth will be so cool! I'd love to do it but Hubby was a bit weirded out by the idea. It just seems like it would be so much more comfortable before and after, being in your own home with all the comforts. I can't wait to hear about it!

CaraMel It should be good Hubby was really worried to start with, but we have alot of faith in our midwife. Also my adopted Mum is a nurse from back in the day so she has been at lots of birth's and will be staying the first night with baby so we are pretty lucky if we did not have that support there is no way I would do it. I told my midwife i want baby out now, but she said I have to wait at least another 2 week's otherwise it will have to be at the hospital.
You poor ladies who suffer with your wrists that has to be really sucky Oh well better get on hope you all have a grat day.

argh! i still havent heard back from my midwife, i have had my bloods done and am waiting to have my blood pressure rechecked. i hate waiting in the meantime. i have been having heaps of trouble getting into the forum the last couple of days... anyone else?
owey! Carpal tunnel sounds sore, i didnt know it could affect you while pregnant until recently, but it seems reasonably common at the mo?
as for eating, if anything i have been more off food lately and eating less. and YAY!!! my bowels seem to be moving normally again! lol.....

Yay Im going to be so glad to sleep on my tummy again!! Ive always been a tummy sleeper!!
so after baby is born our tummy wont hurt then? does the bleeding hurt after wards? Does it feel like period pain? (hoping someone might be able to answer? )
I never go up til 2pm today! I made up on some of my lost sleep but funny thing is im feeling tired again!! Wonder why!?
Hey is there a due date page for us mums due in August anywhere?

bekkie- yeah its yuck waiting to hear something i saw a different midwife at my last check and she had told me i'd need to be checked again that ight and then seen by OB and stuff, and have the trace thign done on bubs etc.... so its been horrible waiting to see if any of that is still needed!!! i'd just really like to knw what my blood pressure is doing now.
im a tummy sleeper too, and i have only just really stopped sleeping on my tummy, more sideways tummy now, belly doesnt get in the way too much.... but still dont want to be squishing bubs up! as for hurting afterwards, i dont remember exactly. it did hurt a bit (the shrinking of the uterus, but that was mostly when breastfeeding/expressing, and at the same time the blood flow would increase...)
and im with ya on the tired thing!!! some days i have tonnes of energy, today it just dragged and i had to have a nana nap. but its best we listen to our bodies, man i'd hate to go into labour too tired.

I don't remember my tummy hurting after Alan however the one thing I could not stand was the smell of the blood after baby it is not like a period it has a funny not so nice smell to it.
Oh well it is house work day today so i have lots to do plus FIL is coming for tea tonight so I have to cook something nice.
Hope you hear from your midwife soon Rachel. HAve you rung her? I would give her a ring.

GAH!! I just wrote a nice long post and got logged out!
Stupid me, I should have copied it first so that I could just paste it back in.
Anyway... the condensed version of my rambling is:
Rachel, I hope its all god news from your midwife (assuming she has got back to you? I hope so!)
Bekkie, my tummy didn't hurt after having Ella. Just a few after-pains (like Rachel) when feeding, but they went after the first few days too.
I had a midwife visit this morning which was all good. She says he is ready to go anytime now, although I'm not expecting him to arrive early. (Despite what my in-laws keep saying!)
Over the weekend we put up Baby's hammock and his chest of drawers. I get so excited seeing everything ready for him! Its a relief too, knowing we're all set at last.
Well I better stop rambling, seeing as it has taken me twice as long to write this!
I hope you're all having a great day, and go easy on the housework Mummy 22!

Your day sounds much the same as mine Mummy22.
How sweet that your hubby doesn't want you walking too far!
I've been doing chores and washing all morning and have just sat down for lunch before my visitors arrive.
Baby has been very quiet today, I guess he's running out of room to jump around in there!
I wish I could go and have a nap but no doubt as soon as I nod off my friends will arrive, darn it
Hope you're all enjoying some sun today!

Did Alan arrive ontime?
Ella was bang on her due date, and I'm not expecting an early baby this time. (Although I wouldn't mind if he decided to come a little early!)

Glad to hear your bloods were good Rachel.
Gutted about the nap Mummy22. I always feel so much more tired when I was planning a nap then didn't get it!
I'm still getting heartburn too, even though Bubs has dropped. It is actually more noticeable now than it was when he was higher, don't know why??
Good plan on getting your haircut and those kind of things now Pepsi. I found it really hard to make time to do that kind of stuff in the months after I had Ella.
Plus, its nice to be pampered while we're feeling so big and fat eh?!
Hope the m/w visit goes well tomorrow Rachel.

Hey guys, haven't been on lately and juts found the August mummies room. YAY!!!!! I was wondering when someone would start onie up! thanks Rachel!
Hope your midwife appointment goes well Rachel and the B/P has come down.
I'm due the 20th and started having contractions (or so i thought) yesterday noon and getting worse around 4pm. They were short and irregular so didn't call M/W but when they were stil there this morning, called her. Apparently it's normal? She says it could well be muscular spasms, baby's head descending/ engaging or just braxton hicks. Oh Well, i just want this baby out now! I said to my mum last night, i wish that this could be the only time this happenes and that it isn't a false alarm. Boy was i wrong! OH well, gues i got to go thru it again. I know labour pains are worse, but i would rather have the build up to them only once. Do you reckon it's too early to try things to bring this child on? And if not, what can i try?
Ok, now i'm rambling. But yay for the august room!

YA Rach good th hear your blood's came back normal. Hope the appt with M/w goes well. I get to see mine on friday.
Stink that your little girl is not sleeping well hope she is ok and not sick or anything.
Chonny it is prob not too early, but really none of the thing's suggested will help unless baby is ready anyway.
Well it is some awful time of the morning and I am up on here I had the worst heartburn at about 11pm so hubby gave me baking soda did not think it would work, but hey waht do you know it did! then at about 2am I woke very uncomfortable. on oneside in my rib's have not been able to get back to sleep I am really sore I am wondering if maybe I pulled something while I was doing all the washing today. I hate complaining about being Pregnant as i really love it, but some day's I do wonder why we do this to ourselves then I happen to see a pic of Alan when he was little and i remember what this is for and that it is the most worth while thing in the world.

awe!!!!!!!! mummy22!!!! i was up then unable to sleep to! i should of gotten out of bed and joined you online! but im too lazy and my house is too cold. what a crap night last night!! i just plan couldnt sleep, everyone else in the house was snoring and im lying there feeling like i could run a marathon! bit tored in my eyes now, but strangely have lots of energy!
Chonny- nice to see you back around and i definatly dont think you are alone in wanting bubs out now! the last month and bit is yuck aye? seems to drag and its uncomfy with all the aches/pains/niggles/etc... but hopefully it will go fast for us all.
yeah would be a neat idea to get pamered, maybe makje us feel a bit better. i dont feel horrible but look at photos of me now and i feel like i look so puffed up in my face (fat in otherwords!...) i had JUST lost 23ish KG and since preggy gained a good chunk of that back and i KNOW its all normal adn its baby and stuff, but its still hard accepting the weight gain after i went to such an effort to loose it! argh! lol.
i think i will treat myself to a cut and dye and even a clothes shop a week or so after bubs is born (hope i have enough money!) my 25th birthday is start of sept so thats something to use as an excuse!!!

Awww guys sorry to hear you both had a bad night!
Chonny you are definitely not alone in wanting your baby out. I do too, not because of any specific complaint I just feel like I have been pregnant long enough now and want to meet my baby!!
As my mum says though, he needs all the extra fat and things he's putting on in there while I impatiently wait, so I should be glad he's staying put and piling it on.
I woke up several times last night with niggly pains in my tummy and got myself all excited but they're gone this morning, darn it!
I'm also planning a shopping trip once my belly goes down after birth. Soooo looking foward to shopping in regular stores without being stared at!
Well it's another beautiful day here and I've got lots of little jobs to do so I should get on.
Belly rubs everyone!

Hey ladies! Ive been a bit slack and have'nt been on if a few days! You all seem to be a bit like me, must be that stage huh!
Im on the keen side to get this baby out too, mainly just to get rid of the swelling and aches etc.
Ive been suffering from Insomnia lately, mummy22 I also should've gotten up and joined you online! I think about it but think of the effort lol Really it is'nt one, but its a bit cold... I kept waking up with spew in my mouth lastnight! did'nt know what was going on! Everytime id swallow cos i did'nt expect it to continue, eventually i did get a towel and bucket but kept happening when I was asleep, ugh so yuck, was acidy too and burned my throat!
Im still getting heartburn too, ive found that a milk milo helps me before trying to sleep! Oh and definetly do NOT eat a banana before going to sleep!
Well better not write a book! Nice day today huh!

My midwife told me that a common myth is that milk will ease acid reflux but in fact, milk stimulates more acid secretion actually causing acid reflux to occur..
I of course just HAD to test this theory and although at first I didn't believe it, I soon realised she was right..so yeah, no more milk before bed for me..
Also, pastries seem to set my acid reflux off really badly too so I have been off pies and stuff for a long time even though I usually love them!

As for me I went and slept for about an hour on the couch till I got cold then about 4.30am I went back to bed and dosed. I have so had enough at least when you have sleepless night's once baby is here it feel's worth while.
Oh well a nice quiet day today Alan is watching tv and Hubby is trying to get off work early so I can have a decent sleep later.

Well the midwife just came to visit and said I'm not going to have the baby today...will probably be early tomorrow morning before I start getting the real contractions etc, so I feel a little relieved that I have time to get things sorted!
Only feeling a little nauseous and occassional preiod pain type cramps but that's it.
I have to say, last night when I was having trouble sleeping, I kind of felt like I just knew this was going to happen?! I had some crampy type feelings and got up in the middle of the night to do poos (hehe) and when I went back to sleep I dreamed I was having the baby. So as shocked as I was when I discovered my waters broke, I also just felt like damn, I knew this would happen!!!!

The sleep thing was bugging me as i was waking every two to three hours for no reason but the last two nights, since my eventful Monday evening, i have slept right through til 3 or 4am and then again until 6.30/7am. It's so weird that i've been sleeping better! Baby isn't moving as much tho :(. Don't get me wrong, i love being preggy, and have wanted this for soooooo long, but please, get this child out!
Well, i'm waiting for my midwife to arrive, she's late, oh well.

Hi Ladies, still no real contractions yet but have been in to the hospital this evening so that the baby could be monitored for half an hour and everything looks ok and she doesn't appear distressed. Apparently contractions may start late tonight or early tomorrow morning, but either way the midwife has a plan that I am to go in to hospital tomorrow morning at 8am and won't be coming out again until baby is born. They will be inducing me if things haven't already progressed...fingers crossed I don't have to be induced but at the same time I hope to try and get a good nights sleep tonight if I can!!
Right now I'm only feeling the very occassional period pain type cramping. Have soaked through many many maternity pads with the amniotic fluid though sheesh!!
Thanks for all your kind wishes

Oh it is so not fair

HI Ladies, well, Pepsi should be enjoying her littl ebubs by now. Mummy22, that's what these forums are for! Having a vent, we don't mind.
Bekkie, i kind of know how you feel about being too big to fit in things.
Linelle, this is my first too and although i have had heaps of experience, i think i am still a little bit nervous. I'm real excited though. But i think i am also nervous about finishing work. I dont want to be at home! I am finishing on Friday (2 days short of 38 weeks) and really scared about it actually.
Well, M/W eventually turned up on thursday, turns out the pain was Braxton hicks mixed with baby descending. So i am now at D1, B/P 120/70, Fetal height 36cm - hasn't grown in a week but apparently that is ok because baby is a good size. I have certainly popped out lower though, my tummy button is now poking out more! M/W said it will be because baby has dropped lower into the pelvis. Yay for descent! But booooo for the pain that comes with it!
Well, enjoy your day ladies, Mummy22, hope you are feeling a bit better today.
BTW i had my first day feeling like a beached whale on thursday. OH well, not long now.

Hi there!
Sorry you had a bad day yesterday Mummy22, I hope your weekend is brighter.
Rachel, I hope your BP does come down! Put your feet up this weekend and let your Hubby and littlies pamper you!
Lol at not fitting places because of the belly! I am constantly bumping and crashing into things with mine. I keep forgetting I'm not normal size anymore!
I'm feeling pretty today. We had my 4 year old niece to spend the night as my brother had to work. She's a great kid and Ella was so excited to have her here but it was a full on night. She woke up every 2 hours and everytime she did she'd try to wake Ella too. I guess it's good practice for the night feeds huh?
I'm feeling achey a lot now too. Bub's was still at 0-1 descent last monday but I've been getting a lot more low aches and movements so I suspect he may have dropped a bit more now. Plus, I'm walking like there is a beach ball wedged between my legs, which is a sure sign my Mum says!
How are you guys going with your preperations for Bubs?
I still haven't packed my hospital bag (much to MIL's horror!) but pretty much everything else is ready and waiting for him.
Hope you're all enjoying your weekend.
Hanging out for Pepsi's baby news!!

HI!!!!
well, yesterday i ended up getting called to the hospital for another blood pressure check- now 165/105 and i was given a script for some blood presure meds.
AND being checked monday, tuesday having a growth scan aswell as checking fluid and everything else.... wednesday having a meeting with OB and then another midwfie check on thurs! so a busy week ahead. and im already exhausted!!! argh! but hopefully especially after wednesday i will kow a little more about where things are headed.
CaraMel- i havent even packed my bags yet either. i have a baby book in a bag, and some maternity pads, but thats it!!! lol. i am really unprepared at moment, but still got time i reckon! and what pains are you talkng about? because i think my bubs ahs dropped abit more today, and im having the yuck period cramping quite bad, aswell as the pinches and "twanges" dull aches..... yuck.
Chonny- great that things are starting to happen, ie; baby dropping and doing its thing... haha those beached whale days are lovely! lol. i dont get it too much, but when i do man! think hubby thinks its a great laugh, especially the one time i got stuck trying to ghet up out of the couch, i was lying down on my side and i really couldnt get out, no matter how hard i tried, i was sooooooooo frustrated!
hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend. hubby back at work tomorrow so mine's all done. did enjoy it though. just too busy (and im trying soo hard to rest!)

Hey ladies well it sounds like we are all feeling much the same way. I woke up at 3am this morning and I really thought I was going to have baby today I was having contraction's till about 9am however they never got stronger and that was it I tried to go to the shop's today we were going to go for a walk along the water front, but I could hardly stand to walk around the mall so we jsut came home where my very lovley Hubby has prettyt much done everything all day it has been so nice my little treasures Mag came today so I have spent most of the day on the couch reading it has been bliss. Only thing better would be to go into labour.
As for having everything ready I am all set for bub's bed made etc as I am planning to have a homebirth no need to pack a bag.
Well i am going to go now jsut in case I timeout. Thanks for all your support hope everyones weekend goes well.

Morning!
Wow Mummy22, it sounds like you might be really close now! I hope you don't have too many false alarms like that. I'm pretty much stuck at home now too. We went to the mall yesterday and my legs, hips and back are really sore from walking around for an hour! I feel like such a granny now.
Rachel, here's hoping the meds do the trick. Esp seeing as you are so busy with appointments etc now! Its a good thing they are keeping such a close watch on you though I guess.
The pains I am getting are like yours pretty much. Often just a dull period type ache, sometimes pinches in the cervix region or similar, like Bubs is having a good poke around. Sometimes when I'm lying down I get sharp pains on either side as Bub stretches as well.
I had the most vivid labour dream last night. It wasn't very realistic but I woke up hoping it was a premonition, lol! It looks like he's happy to stay put for the moment though and good on him really, it's cold today!!
Have a good day everyone!

I am not really having too much pains. Ethan gets tight quite often but i only sometimes get the cramps. I really hope i don't have to wait until 40 weeks because i am already bored and i don't think i will be able to wait for that long.

Last night was a bit of a write off for me. Poor Ella spiked a huge fever after dinner with the in-laws so we had a trip to the A & E (a virus) and a very wakeful night afterwards as we watched it go up and up and up. She's never been sick like that before so it was really scary. Thankfully this morning when she woke it had finally broken and she's just left with a heavy cold. (I'm praying she won't share with me!!)
Bub's decided that the middle of the night was a good time for some intense braxton hicks, which had me praying this wasn't it for a change!
So it will be quiet day for us I think, hopefully we can both catch up on a bit of sleep after the midwife's visit this morning.
Hope you're all feeling well and warm,

Thanks guys!
Well it turned out Ella wasn't better after all, and started vomitting and high fever again after my post. We wound up being sent to starship for tests etc and they got her temp under control.
They are so good there, despite the long waiting times. She is definitely on the mend now, I think, and we all had a much needed good sleep last night!
Lucky you Mummy22! Your weekend sounds fab, and you definitely deserved a break. I hope you put your feet up!
I hear you on the loads of washing thing, how does it build up so fast???
I'm lucky my hubby came trained in washing machine operation. So while it is usually my responsibility, he can step in when I'm not able to do it
Linelle, the tea they reccomend to prepare your uterus for labour is raspberry leaf tea. I'm on 2-3 cups a day now. It doesn't taste great but I've heard it's pretty good so I'm sticking with it.
Rach, how are all your appointments going? I hope the meds are helping keep your bp down.
Chonny, I am so looking foward to a beached whale day today. Definitely milk it for all you can, get DP waiting on you hand and foot if poss!
I hope all of you are well, and having a great morning!

Raspberry leaf tea tastes a whole lot better (well, at least a little bit) if you add a heaped teaspoonful of honey to it - that's how I got mine down !

I'd check with your midwife Linelle. Some herbal teas are not reccomended during pregnancy, but I'm not sure which are safe and which aren't.
I found the raspberry leaf tea I got in foodtown, but they didn't have it in pak'n'save or countdown. Most health food shops stock it though so if the one you've got isn't right, maybe try looking at one of them?

well, got back form the scan before. things are looking good except bubs decided to keep legs firmly shut so didnt get a recheck to see if she was still a girl or grown a penis! gutted! lol, but bubs is about 5b 12oz at mo.
havent started on meds yet, waiting till after my appt with OB tomorrow so i can chat to her about them, because i still dont know anything about them, and i feel a bit uneasy about taking stuff without knowing much.... and the find out the plans for the coming weeks.
feeling ok though, still not sleeping well, dont know why. its not like im uncomfy, just come about 4am and i wake. this morning i woke at 3am with nasty cramping which lasted a till at least 5am. went and sat on the toilet for half hourish with no luck. they are coming back a bit now, but had nothing during the day.
and i LOVE raspberry leaf tea! yum! i just had my last cup of it yesterday, ran out! arh! must get to the shop and but some more tomorrow.
ow! im still having the pains.... they arent contractions though- i dont think. my tummy is hard but it still feels more like im getting the runs (sorry bout that!)
haha the joys aye?.

Lol Rachel, I was thinking that too! You might be the next one of us to go I think Mummy22, with all that nesting!
Hope your OB appointment goes well today Rachel, will this be the first time you meet him/her?
The pain you're describing sounds exactly like what I've been getting the last couple of days. Although I haven't actually had the runs, thats what the pain feels like. Lots of braxton hicks too with Bub pushing down quite hard at times.
I've officially withdrawn Bub's eviction notice for the meantime though. Ella is still really not well, and I'm so scared of going into labour while she's so sick. Of course I know if it did happen that Mum would look after her completely but I'd still be so worried about her! We're off to the Dr again today anyway and hopefully after 3 days we can finally get some answers.
I wonder how Pepsi and her new baby are going?

Hi August Mummies, I hope you're all doing well and looking forward to meeting your babies :)
We had our little girl on Friday at 1.08pm and we named her Alyssa Cherie, she was 2.77kgs (which is about 6.10 pounds). As much as I wasn't expecting to have her for another couple of weeks, I am glad she's here now and the whole birth thing is over with haha
I thought I'd write you a novel to pass the time...
My waters had broken on the Thursday morning at about 8am and I didn't start having contractions until about 8:30pm that night, but they lasted all through the night. I was told to go to hospital at 8am the next morning for antibiotics since the baby was at risk of infection due to the amount of time it had been since the membranes had ruptured. They decided to induce me since the contractions weren't regular enough (but they were actually still painful and frequent), so I asked for an epidural which was sooooooo good as the contractions soon became a pressure sensation instead of pain!!
Funnily enough, it was a couple of hours after the induction, and just when the epidural had worn off that I was told I had to start pushing!! I really wanted a top up but was told nope, too late for that now, so I definitely got to feel that ring of fire we all hear about!! And I just can't explain the sense of relief you feel when the rest of the baby comes gushing out though..it was great!!!
I needed a couple of stitches and the first thing I said to my mum who had watched the birth was "did I do a poo?" haha, the answer was no. Geez, typical of me to ask that first hahaha
Anyway, I spent 3 nights in hospital and there was a tough night where Alyssa couldn't feed properly due to a huge amount of mucus she was producing. She even stopped breathing at one point which freaked me out but all the right people were there to deal with it at the hospital so it was all ok. She is feeding like a maniac now and is a real poo monster so everything has cleared up and I'm not such a confused mess as I was the first few days.
I'm a first time mother and hardly ever held a baby until now so I needed a lot of help with how to breastfeed, as well as learning how to change a nappy and bathe her, but it's amazing how once you get a little more confidence things become so much easier.
And definitely I think that it helps knowing I can log into ohbaby when I have some more questions in the upcoming months/years etc as other mothers have been the best source of information for me anyway!
I can't wait to hear about your upcoming births ladies, best wishes!!

ITS HAPPENING! lol..... i had my first official "am i in labour" thought last night! haha, just going to get worse from here on in waiting i reckon, as due date approaches.
last night once again i was woken a few hours after going to bed.... by HUGE and really uncomfortable tightenings and pains. i really thought this could be it. i sat on the toilet for ages again! so uncomfy.
in the end i had some panadol, jumped into a yummy bath and sat in there for just over half an hour until they started to ease!!! and went to bed. couldnt s;leep though! obviously seen they went away they werent the real deal.... yay!!!!
im not comfy so far today but its all just a practice run! lol....

hey ladies Pepsi sounds like you have a wonderful little girl how awsome is that.
well it seem's I was wrong yesterday everything stoped so no baby yet!
I was very depressed yesterday felt like a bit of a dork really cause I really thought I was in labour. I can't remember much with Alan so it is all kinda like the first time. I am feeling better now still annoyed with myself for geting my hope's up. My M/W is coming today I was thonking of kidnapping her till this baby come's out somehow I don't think that will work too well.
Anyway I am off to do some more baking and try to take my mind off thing's.
Argh!!! I just want to
